Hi, I don't really know what's wrong with you image. However, if your daughter is the subject, I think she is underexposed. In circumstances like this, where a subject person is back-lit, it can be ...

Thank you for your patience. I think we are starting to repeat ourselves...Not a good sign. I will not pursue my point further on this thread. Perhaps next time.

If you think that putting more intensity on a pixel doesn't change the SNR, then I guess we are done.
-
Confusing. The point is, the noise would have changed differently had you used aperture rather than shutter speed to change exposure, particularly over 7 stops. And the noise would be very ...
-
I'm thinking of the case where sensor noise is important.
-
If by that you mean that noise is stochastic, then true but trivial. If you mean that the underlying parent distribution depends on shutter speed, then that would be interesting.
-
Has anyone thought of the difference changing exposure with shutter speed versus aperture? For example, changing exposure with aperture changes SNR, whereas changing it using shutter speed doesn't.

You can use Photo Shooting Menu Banks as described on p493 in the Z(RG Reference Manual. Then assign Shooting Banks to a custom button. You can also assign Recall Shooting Functions to a button as ...

I also have a Nikon Z700. It is a great camera. If you like the D700, I think you will love the Z6ii. Get it with the Z 24-70mm f4 S lens.

The Nikon Z7ii was runner up in DPReview's 2 2021 review for landscape cameras: Best cameras for landscape photography in 2021: Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com) The best was a medium ...

I wonder if this disease inflicts the Z7ii?
-
Even though the Z 24-70mm f2.8 is technically sharper than the f4, the difference will be practically unnoticeable in most common situations. What is noticeable? + In a dim nightclub, or in a ...

Okay. I see what you mean, and "Highlight-Weighted Metering" (p158 in the manual) is not a setting I use. The reason is because there is no explanation on how it works. I can only guess that it is ...
-
I'm using Z6ii or Z7ii so this might not apply. I like to maintain control and tend to see these settings as unnecessary/unpredictable variables. Plus, Matrix Metering is pretty reliable. Depending ...

I am fully aware of that. Everything involves compromises.

Just want to point out that, with one of the Godox transmitters (I forget which cause I have two and only one has this feature) you can fire a shot with i-TTL to get exposure into the ballpark. ...

You don't need to fold the legs back in the eventuality that you want to use a different head. Just use the tripod as you would any other and preserve the option to fold back with a head for which ...

I have the GT2545T-82TQD and use it with up to a Nikon D810 with 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Good travel tripod. Including ballhead, weighs 4.1 pounds by my measurement.

I also switched to Godox and use their wireless triggers which bothe send to and receive from off-camera flashes. Their flashes are compatible with Nikon's i-TTL. They also have wireless receivers ...

I belong to a group where many of the members shoot a variety of the high-end cameras from Sony, Canon and Nikon. In the discussions and comparisons of these top-end cameras, I have not seen that ...
