Exactly what do you think Panasonic is doing in-body? And how do you magically create 16 exposure that nicely overlap w/o artifacts by hand w/o a tripod? I must be missing something.

In times of >40MP sensors, I much rather take a 28mm and crop in when needed than a 35mm, since I cannot crop out.

I don’t care about the size as long as the grip is comfortable. But I surely wouldn’t mind if the made S1 series lighter.

Oh and another word of caution: if you shoot wide open at close distance, your DOF gets very shallow! Something like <1.5cm at 1m. I often find that very useless because if the head of your kid is ...

I assume you mean too short (in focal range). I have the the Sigma 85 and for indoors, it can definitely be too long unless I really only want to get the head and details. Another problem in ...

Wouldn’t it also be considersably bigger and heavier with the TC on top? I have the f4 plus TC and small it is not...

Which other lens would be overpriced vs other mirror less peers? Bit of an overstatement I think.

I am thinking of swapping the Sigma 85 1.4 for this one just for size and weight. I can live with the third stop less easily and I doubt I would be able to see much IQ difference. My only problem ...

That little box is indeed a godsend. Such a nice improvement.

I have the 70-200 f4 and TC2x. I was just curious.

Anyone knows whether it’ll work with the TCs? I would assume not but haven’t seen any info.

Bit premature judgement before you’ve or anyone has seen it, isn’t it?

That does sound nice. Apart from the MP, these new sensors also should read out much much faster. That alone would help if Panasonic still sticks to only DFD. Where does the quad pixel rumor come ...

You mean besides the S1, S1R and S1H ;)

Sorry, I wasn't aware it did. I just tried to reproduce that on my S1. It's vaguely and roughly in the 1/FL ball park at best. It's true that it doesn't like to drop much below 1/60 SS. I would ...
-
Where does it say it would follow 1/FL? It’s a good rule of thumb but not something the camera follows per se or did I miss it in the manual? In any case, easiest way to deal with that might be to ...

Thank you all, this was genuinely helpful! Given the unanimous praise for the S line TCs, I think I will try this out first for sure. Especially since you also seem to have to stop down the Sigma ...

I was wondering if anyone has experience with either or with any luck both. On M43, I use the PL 50-200 quite a bit, mostly for basic domestic wildlife, landscape details etc. So I'd like something ...
