Contra Mundum: Doesn't look like a good low light (or even a good light) camera. The pictures in the dark are not going to look any better than from any modern CCTV camera.
Sensor is ridiculously small (and thus noisy). The lens is dim. Native resolution is terrible, and noise reduction would kill it altogether at high ISO.
* 1 / 2.8-inch CMOS (back-illuminated type)
* Still image: 2M (1920 x 1080)
* Video ※: FHD (30p) / STD (640x480 30fps) / HS 240 (512x384 240fps)
* 2.87 mm f/2.8 lens

the sensor is so small. I just realize after read this. we need bigger sensor, and faster lens.
but better to use new sensor technology which work better on low light

JABB66: Although I thank DPReview for posting this, people here would be much more interested in a compact zoom camera with a wide angle of 19 mm and a 1/1.7" sensor, and with the Casio High Speed features, like the new Casio Exilim EX-ZR5000:

http://www.casio-intl.com/asia/en/dc/products/ex_zr5000/

I can't understand why DPReview hasn't featured it in a news article. This camera really covers an unattended gap in the market. And if this one has collected 180 comments and many more clicks I presume, imagine how many could be for an article for the EX-ZR5000.

1/1.7" sensor is too small. we can not expect good low light image using small sensor

If we compare it with FZ100 we can see it is almost same spec.
but the price is much higher
https://www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=panasonic_dmcfz1000&products=panasonic_dmcfz2500

The significant different :
sensor type BSI-CMOS, image stabilization on movie mode, more zoom (not significant), little bit better viewfinder,

is this worth with the price increase ?

Why Casio only use F2.8 instead faster such as 1.8 ?
I believe next year many camera manufacturer will release new sensor which work better on low light. we already see the news since 2013 (Canon high-sensitivity 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor ) and others. but still no product released yet

Dabbler: Interesting to see that RAW write times are a pathetic 1fps across all of Canon's 1" sensor cameras. Useless in burst mode. Even my G3X is useless in burst mode as I shoot jpg+RAW. As soon as the Sony RX10M3 came out I switched to that, no slouch writing RAW in burst mode!

I hope Canon can fix it using firmware update. or Canon need to release newer models

Sony need to reduce the price it is too expensive for compact.
next add small grip for better handling.
and other improvement for next version

The price is too high for pocket cameras. Yes, I know RX100 is good cameras.
Other thing to improve, add small vertical grip, so it is easier to handle

and when Sony will use new sensor which work better on low light ?

I hope the image quality much better than Ricoh theta. But if only using 2 cameras I think the image quality is not optimal. better at least using 3 cameras.
any estimated price ?

On article Ricoh releases THETA+ Video app for Android (3 comments in total)

when Ricoh will release new model with at least 3 cameras. it will create better images.
if only two one cameras must take more than 180 degree and this will create bad images

I think the cameras number is too much.
meanwhile 2 cameras also not enough, as 1 cameras must take more than 180 degree.
at least use 3 cameras or more. but not too much

On article Nico360 to be 'world's smallest' 360-degree camera (24 comments in total)

360 cameras need to use at least 3 cameras to create good image.
if only 2 cameras, it mean each cameras must cover more than 180 degree, which make the image at the edge look bad

On article Samsung launches first removable UFS memory cards (177 comments in total)
In reply to:

Toselli: In my opinion a bad move from samsung, it reminds my sony of some years ago, who created memory stick and no one but sony used. There were no benefits and they were twice the price of an equivalent sd. The benefit here is speed, but in my opinion nothing that can't be done with a new sd/microsd release. In my opinion also speed is not essential, on a phone (where this size is used) we already have a fast system memory, and the microsd is used almost only for music, photos and videos, which have no benefits with a faster memory. On a camera also speed depends mainly from the buffer, unless you shoot really a lot of long bursts at 10 fps, but the cameras made to do this already have xqd!

Samsung market share almost 30%. when they release all their new gadget using this it mean good market already.

First Samsung must release their gadget which support this. other vendor will follow if it is good. I hope the write speed will be increased later (maybe 2nd gen)
