I have used the Canon 70-200 F4 IS with the Sony A7R iii and have found the results to be excellent, although AF is, of course, not fast using an adapter.

Out of curiosity, how do the network and USB drivers differ?  I've always viewed both wifi and ethernet as less stable and predictable than a direct USB connection for Epson printers.
