  • According to the canon info yes it is compatible. What is not clear is whether the DC2 is compatible with the M3
  • Hi Finally been able to get out. Carried two identically setup M bodies one with 18-150 the other 55-200. Tried to set 150mm focal length on the 55-200 by guesswork as no distance marker on barrel ...
  • My 430ex ii works fine with my M1 body. I can access all menus.
  • Just tried that combo and as well as the regular pulse of red IR light from the 430ex the IR lamp on the body also lights up to focus in dark room
  • infuriating as I used to own a 60D and just checked the manual regarding AF beam and it has 4 options unlike the M which has just two - on and off.  It appears as if the M firmware has been dumbed ...
  • It works on my M1 with 430ex. There is a flash custom setting no.8 that turns on and off the focus assist lamp, could that be set to off? scratch that - the M body lights up but not the flash, sorry.
  • I use my 430ex with an M1 body!  Of course it is top heavy but not unmanageable. With the extra size, grip and weight of an M5 you should be fine.
  • Created discussion thread Samyang 300mm mirror
does anyone have any experience of this lens on an M body? i used to own a Ricoh 500mm mirror lens so understand the issues with this design of lens (manual focus, donut rings, fixed aperture etc) ...
  • Hello Xiaomu. The 11-22 is my favourite lens. Nice pics. Robin
  • Sorry, no. My daughter has the 18-135stm but not the usm.
  • Concur completely.
  • That was my plan when I ordered it. From the initial "test" photos I took I determined that the 18-55 was sharp in the centre but not so at the edges. The 15-45 was much sharper all over. That ...
  • i often choose just one lens before I go out and force myself to think differently about a familiar trail so the focus is on the lens. Yes, I know I've missed many a shot due to having the wrong ...
  • Thanks. Given my daughter thinks I'm a "plonker" your suggestion of character building is much more appealing. Though I'm not sure I'd repeat the experience any time soon.
  • I'm more than happy with its IS performance vs the 55-200.  I haven't had chance to do any like for like images as I've just crashed down my stairs at home. I feel so stupid. No lasting damage ...
  • Not so in the uk - on back order everywhere.
  • Please forgive the "quality" of the images but the light is not good today but I think they show what kind of bokeh the 18-150 is capable of.
  • Sorry but not had chance yet to test that aspect. Hope to do so over the coming days.  Will post findings and photo.
  • Alan this image is with the 55-200 at 100mm - it's one of my favourites to show off it's bokeh. 100mm f5 1/80 iso100
  • Very well.  I would suggest that at 100mm and more the 55-200 just edges it, but imho it is close. At the centre of the image I can't see any difference (iMac 27" 5K).  Not yet tested the bokeh ...
