I concur with what previous posters have stated. I have been shooting Nikon for 42 years, during which time I have used at least ten different camera bodies and a similar number of different ...

"Needed" is up to you to decide, but... I have been shooting with Nikon gear for 42 years (FM2, FE, FE2, F4s, F100, D300, D7200 ...), and until earlier this year the D500 (with the right lenses) ...

I love my Z9, but for me the ideal 2 camera combo would be my Z9 and a Z8 for when a more compact body is convenient (although a good crop sensor camera with the same spec might give pause for ...

Hi Rivi, very nicely captured images of this bird searching the forest floor from its perch. Your bird is a Crested/Oriental Honey Buzzard Pernis ptilorhynchus . The small head, slit-like nostrils ...

Thanks. I have noted that rainbows rarely come out in wildlife photographs as strongly as seen by the human eye at the time, and that is usually because we adjust the exposure for the subject and ...

To me, the weather conditions add to the images, especially the mist and falling rain, I might have composed/cropped a few of them slightly differently, but I like this set - they are different ...

What he said - with 100% certainty ;-)

Now that's a face that I doubt even it's mother could love ... Thanks for the information, I am pretty certain that I would not want them as my neighbours!

Doggy does not look too happy with the situation, but trying to be stoic? Are the dogs afraid of, or respectful of, the monkeys? I know they can bite savagely if provoked.

Likewise my 500mm F/4E and 300mm F/2.8 VRII on my Z9, even with very fast moving targets and with or without a TC-14. If anything, they work better than on any F body I have used, and combined ...

A smart little bird, and your technique coupled with the soft lighting has really brought out the details in both the blacks and the whites. The side profile and good background separation are ...

The lens foot on the big teles is quite a lot more substantial and longer than the one on the 200-500, but to restate the point, it's very much my preferred technique with the 500 F/4E, but not ...

Too front-heavy, especially when the barrel is extended, and reaching both control rings is awkward on the zoom and zooming the full range with just fingertips is awkward.

I certainly do this most of the time when handholding with a Nikon 500mm F/4E, now usually on a Z9. I find it comfortable, resting on my left palm and I can easily reach the manual focus ring with ...

Placed 21st in the challenge. A female Eurasian goshawk that was briefly in my care until she was fit enough to hunt for herself and be released. Shot at sunset handheld, wide open and manually focused with a Nikon 105mm micro lens, the DOF is negligible. I could see some reflected sunset colour in here eye, which led me to take a few shots before it was completely dark, but the result was a pleasant surprise. A living volcano of intensity.

At work right now, I will catch you later ;-)

Could I suggest that you start a new thread and outline the problems you are having switching to the D500. There are lots of people here that have made that move, often with an intermediate step ...

Lucky you - that's a juvenile peregrine Falco peregrinus , the northern populations of which are migratory to some extent. It is not unusual for them to settle on ships for a while, where they hunt ...

"Drj3" is correct - it's a red-footed booby Sula sula , not quite in fully adult plumage. The stout, elongated dagger-shaped bill is absolutely normal for the species (and the genus Sula as a ...
