alex_virt: That portrait makes me sick!

An appropriate soundtrack for it would be the opening music from the Hitchcock's "Vertigo".

Whois: Just curious: in the photo https://www.dpreview.com/news/8120195205/slideshow-winners-of-the-all-about-photo-awards-2020-the-mind-s-eye-competition?slide=6&imageViewer=1 there is a mention that the photographer was not noticed. Would you not have to get a model release? If you're entering a competition (and winning a prize) I would assume that it qualifies as commercial use.

If the photographer asked the mother for permission, the photo opportunity would be lost. If he asked her afterwards, she might demand to delete the photo. I think it's a charming picture and there is nothing wrong with publishing it.

Great idea! The image quality is crappy but authentic, shot through a genuine crappy plastic lens on grainy film, not digitally degraded.

Ideal camera for landscape and still life, not so great for portraiture. The model has beautiful skin, but all those little hairs and pores look really unattractive at 100% magnification.

I have newer Z-1P and *ist bodies.

I don't know about Nikon, but my Pentaxes show an error message if the film isn't loaded properly

moimoi: For less money than the Leica camera body, get yourself a Fuji GFX50R/S and a couple of GF glass, and you will never have to shoot Leica again. Oh and better image output as well, and you will have some extra cash for some date nights ;)

Fuji GFX50 is just a camera. Leica is an equivalent of a diamond necklace for men.

alex_virt: I imagine a digital Mamiya D330 with a rotating sensor, autofocus motor to move the bellows and an LCD on top. Now that would be cool!

For purists there must be an option to flip the LCD image :)

I've been on Flickr for 10 years and accumulated 2760 pictures which isn't much. I will probably subscribe while the 30% discount lasts and see if within next year they will come up with a different, cheaper plan that will allow me to keep my photos. If not, I will abandon my account. But regardless of what happens to my account, the "great purge" that will start in February will put an end to the Flickr we all knew and loved.
