flip 21: Great video with No mic input, or a fully articulated screen, but 4K video?!? This is not coherent...Great 4K video, with crappy audio, lens noises, etc?!?!? well another camera not for PROS, Youtubbers nor for amateur filmakers... The others use their cell phones to take pictures or buy Canon... I buy Panasonic, or Sony ;)

Wrong D7000ShooterUK. I'm not serious about video. I'm just used to have a cheap camcorder in the past that had a selfie LCD 180º and a cheap, low tech mic input (3.5). If I was serious into video, I knew I had to buy a professional camera with XLR inputs for Pro audio. 3.5 micro inputs was for people that wasn't serious about video, get it? What I never thought was that a system that can deliver much better quality video, and 4K video, would deliver unusable audio. It is unusable to hear lens noises, when you are not using an external mic. So why offer sound, or Audio at 96khz if it is unusable?!?!? The A6300 is an entry level camera, and has mic input (for non serious about video people such as me)... 3.5 mic input are old stuff... low tech, that is why every cheap laptop has a mic input... Get it? XLR audio is professional, 3.5 inputs are for amateurs, and no mic input is for stupids... I'm not stupid, that is why I'm not gonna buy this crap!!!

Did you watch that stupid commercial? -It says the EM10 MK III is perfect for selfies, but it has a non selfie LCD. It makes me laugh...

@Karroly, you're rich, I'm poor... I buy the camera with the more features that money can buy... I want the best bang for the buck... How many cameras do you have? 10? 100?!? I wish I was rich like you... :( Can you lend me some money ;)

@NZ Scott, my old and inexpensive laptop has a mic input, my old and cheap SD Mini DV camcorder (and I mean cheap) has mic input with manual audio levels, and a fully 180º selfie LCD... Do advanced video users still use those cheap and old camcorders that only record in Standard Definition (720x...)? Because any cheap camcorder has a flip out screen and a mic input today... Any old camera offers what I was talking about... it became standard long time ago... Any Panasonic 4K camera has mic input such as the 500$ G7, and 4K.

@Karroly
I bet you still own a cell phone that only do calls. I bet you don't have a smartphone, or a computer that does multimedia. Maybe your computer only do calculations, and word processment, right? Because I remember when computer were originaly design to do programming, and calculations. I bet you still do analog photography, and don't do digital photography, or use photoshop. Editing a photo in Photoshop? Sham on you!!!!!! You should stick with old school photography... A camera that records files to a SD card?!?!? How crazy that is... By the way, why a LCD, or a Touch screen, pure photographers use their view finder only... i hate technology ;) LOL

I don't care about designations. I just don't understand why a camera that offers 4K video, completely ignores audio. I mean good video is always in pair with good audio, right? Premiere Pro is a video editor, but you expect to offer good audio quality tools, right? Is the inclusion of a mic input that expensive? if you watch this commercial you can see how incoherent this is, talking about taking selfies, when you cannont flip the LCD 180º... this is crazy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j4dw-jIQDw&t=8s

@The Name is Bond WRONG MR. BOND!!!! If it is not a video camera can you explain me like I was a 5 year old boy, why does it offer 4k video then, or 1080p at 120fps? or IBIS? Is an old 3.5 mic input that high end, or expensive to include? And why does the Sony A6300 offers a mic input than for almost the same price? Why does a camera offer great quality video, if it's ruined by lens sounds, etc? Professional cameras use XLR inputs, entry level cameras use 3.5 mic inputs... Are you sure your name is Bond? Poor MI6 ;)

@liquidsquid
Ok, what I don't understand, is why canon offers 4K video on their, higher and more expensive camera models. Can you explain me why? If it is the same as 1080p, for Canon, I mean, why do you have to pay more to have 4k video, than with other camera brands? Can you explain please?!?!?!

Low Budget Dave: I was just about to buy the NX1 when Samsung pulled the plug. For the average camera user, $1000 is a lot of money, and we tend to wait a while before jumping in.

I ended up buying one of the Sony cameras. I am sure if you look around, there are thousands of customers just like me who skipped the NX1 because we knew there would never be an NX2 to take full advantage of our lens investment.

From Samsung's point of view, the problem is that there are "thousands" of us and not "hundreds of thousands".

the problem is that some people prefer worst and more expensive, as long as it has their favorite brand on the cover of the camera. I'm talking about Canon users. They prefer to pay more for less, and against this, what can you do? The problem are the extremist fan boys...

@Edmond Leung and your reply to Dr BlackJack show that you are rude. Calling someone stupid?!?!?!?!. You are like some Canon fan boys that buy Canon just for status... I'm "poor" so I choose cheap and better... :)

flip 21: Canon?!?!? Don't make me laugh... Since 2010, a still camera is much more than just a simple object to take pictures. Canon introduce full-hd video on the Canon 5d. Since then still cameras are now hybrid cameras. So Canon should be "punished" by reviewers for not offering 4K in their cameras, like all the cameras released today. For instances today Cell phones are much more than objects for making calls. In the same way still cameras are much more than objects to take only stills... Unfortunately reviewers, continue not to reflect this aspect on their cameras review's rates.... If a SmartPhone released today, wouldn't offer a good camera, it would never achive good rates from reviewers, but this doesn't happen with still cameras, that are now hybrid cameras, as we know, except only with Canon cameras... Cell phones were also created to make calls in the past, but they evolve to offering other functionalties, because technology allowed it...

It was nonsense if we reviewed smart phones based only on their original feature "do they make good phone calls?" Yes. Ok, 100% in score then... I'm tiered of this... If reviewers don't demand more, than brands will never deliver more...

tecnoworld: The samsung NX1 was released in november 2014...

It was 3x better than this camera in anything.

So why, Canon, can't you even get close to a camera done in 2014 by a refrigerator manufacturer?

no comprendo ;) There is a segment. Not all people have smart phones. I don't have one. But I know that who lokes SmartPhones, wants the best. If you compare the expensive models all them have similar features, but if you compare Canon mirrorless with its competitors you cannot say the same. Is like Canon got stucked in 2012... Ths truth is that a refrigerator brand has a much better camaera than any Canon mirrorless camera and it was released 4 years ago...
