Canon already expected that the camera industry will shrink much more within 2 years and they planning to switch from consumer camera to industrial camera. Yes, even Canon is having troubles with the camera industry that they have to start leaving.

Zed Man/ False info. Do you realize that Nikon gets sensors from other companies too? And as he said, you don't have EXACT proofs to support your false idea instead of being a keyboard warrior.

Zed Man/ Gosh, you are truly a troller. That link you provided doesn't prove anything that Nikon buy the most sensor from Sony.

Like American20 mentioned, where is smartphone market share?

Einride: Really cool! Would love to see some sort of comparison between action cams. I don't have one but when I see this I want one!

Edit: I HATE that it says "24mm f4 (35mm equivalent)" on the lens! It's not a 24mm! People will get f*cked up from this. A 24mm lens is a 24mm lens is a 24mm lens. Count on Sony to print gimmicky sh*t on their products. Ewww

35mm FF focal length is the standard that all cameras need to calculate the crop factor base on 35mm FF camera. Why do you hate that?

It's about 7 patents for A1. Dont tell me it's just about the round head. In fact, nobody made Profoto A1's round head before. AD360? lol. That's completely different.

It's about specific patents that we dont know exactly and yet people are whining about this so much.

Critical Thinker: Does anyone know if Samyangs quality control is as bad as Sonys GM lenses?

Thematic/ Well, Zeiss series like FE 50mm F1.4 and 35mm F1.4 are well known for having QC issue.

And who said we need SSD for faster performance? LO.

And few Sony lenses have QC issues that you may have different sharpness. Real images would be better instead of charts like that lol.

photomedium/ Numbers is nothing in terms of sharpness lol.

StopTheGAS/ Do they test close or infinity range focus? This affects the optical quality. As I said, those charts mean nothing unless we see actual images.

MirrorLessHater: Sony is #1 optically.
E-mount is the best system ever created.
note that this is the best 135mm ever created while being the lightest and smallest.

Goodmeme/ well we still dont have comparison between Canon and Sony lenses...

skorpionet: Sharpness doesn't make a picture

skorpionet/Then use film lenses lol. It does matter due to high megapixels.

iAPX: With the incredible resolution needed with increased sensor definition, whatever their size, many actual prime lenses are the limitation. Won't even talk about zoom lenses.

Since my D300 (APS-C 12MP) zoom lenses were limitations, same for D610 (FF 24MP, same resolution) and on me D800E situation is worse.

High-resolution sensors is of no value without high-resolution lenses.
And for myself, I prefer to have the perfect prime lens to have the perfect result, when working, than something "convenient" but underpart.
(works the exact other way when in vacation using an old pocket camera, Canon S100)

On my last studio shoot my client (RedKen) checked my results doing pixel-peeping, and they were satisfied by the quality: it will be shown in big size, everything count.

And one of DPR users said "it is very stupid to mention megapixel because megapixel means nothing" lol...

More megapixels = better optic quality.

princecody: So Sony with this lens has surpassed Leica optics?

Leica SL lenses are great. Leica M lenses are just terrible but expansive. However, Leica SL has only 24mp so it is difficult to compare with other lenses like GM lenses since they use and support more than 42mp. All those sharp images from Leica SL lenses are base on 24mp, not 42mp. More megapixels require better optics and that's why Medium format lenses are big and heavy as hell even they have F2.8 or F4 for prime lenses.

I cant say Leica is meant to be the industry's benchmark. Sigma Art primes lenses ARE the industry's benchmark. But we'll see since Panasonic released L-mount bodies and lenses to test Leica L-mount lenses on 42mp sensor.

Chris_2017: Why would anyone choose one of these over something like the Pelican 1510 Studio Case? Better protection for expensive kit, real waterproofing, still has a laptop slot if you want it, and all these bags will go over the weight limit for plane carry on when full anyway. Also the Peli is cheaper.

I agree. I got HPRC case under $200 but way better than those kinds of the carrier.

lili23: AD200 can't replace V1 because V1 is/has...

1. $50 cheaper
2. Can tilt left and right
3. No need to buy a transmitter, round head, and extension cord for AD200
4. No need to pay more for a transmitter, round head, and extension cord($40~70, $80, $45. $165 more)
5. Much compact
6. AF assist light
7. Zoom

Pete1976/

AD200 is...

1. Heavier
2. Bulkier
3. Bigger

These are the reason why speedlight is still being used. I kept saying this tons of time and yet you are ignoring these facts. Do you really think that most people can handle AD200 combination? lol def no. I have that setup and it's way expansive than V1.

You said about photojournalist that they don't use a round head. Guess what? Im talking about speedlihgts lol. Does anyone of them use AD200 just because it is way better than V1? Not at all.

You see, comparing between V1 and AD200 is already out of topic and Im not gonna waste my time on your out of topic conversation.

Peter1976/ You are talking about different uses. Out of topic. V1 is more mobile and portable than AD200.

lol we are talking about different uses and yet you brought 150cm octabox? Do you really think that journalist will gonna use octabox? What about events? wedding? and more? For studio uses, I dont mind but AD200 is not meant for portable uses and you need to spend much more money to get similar features that V1 has. Also, it cant tilt right and left lol. Way bulkier and heavier than V1. Still dont understand what I'm saying?

No differences at all duh. You have no proofs to prove your statement.

so-what-17: can't see why they don't make a camera or grip that would take the M.2 MVMe ssd card, than we could have 3200 write speed and 1 or 2 TB.

estarkey/ I totally disagree with your statement and you clearly don't understand why memory cards are expensive than SSD.

1. Size: NVME M.2 SSD is MUCH longer and bigger than any memory cards! This is why they can make it cheaper. Tell me if you really think that M.2 is smaller than sd card? NO.

2. Flash storage: memory cards use only 1~2 flash storage while SSD uses much more in order to get speed and performance. Smaller means more expansive like a laptop.

3. Case: All memory cards have its case to protect from physical damage. Also, there is another storage to store some memories in order to prevent data loss. M.2 SSD doesn't even have a case for them.

Since you didn't even care about these facts, you failed to support your claim. Tell me if there is any SSD with SD card size and NVME M.2 performance? NONE.

Yeah, It's been several years since AD200 released. But I wonder if AD200 Pro is compatible with current accessories or not?

Peter1976/ Again, are you gonna put a large softbox with AD200? NO. As I said, Ad200 system is too bulky for simple sessions.

Also both the bare bulb and round head have an almost identical light base on Profoto testing. Profoto also uses a round head unlike a bare bulb but the result wasn't that different.

AD200 with a lot of accessories to get V1's feature is already big and heavy lol.
