  • I love these pictures - you manage to time the moment perfectly, which is something I consistenly fail at. I think that is the Holy Grail of this type of portrait. If the crops are unusual, for me ...
  • Replied in Pat
Mary - I was so sad to read the news about Pat. He was an excellent contributor and came across as a very nice man. I always looked forward to one of his challenges and was pleased when he took ...
  • .... I don't think we will. I'll guess it's the Waiting Woman at the HMAS Sydney II Memorial  in Geraldton, Western Australia. Free turn if correct, please. Mike
  • Correct Willem, it is, with its seemingly randomly sized arches. Over to you. Mike
  • Another view before bedtime. I've always thought boats can end up quite scruffy if they're not looked after properly :-D Mike
  • Sorry, not the Lake District Mike
  • The name and location of the bridge in the background, please. I don't think this will take long. Mike
  • I guess this is Moana railway station on Lake Brunner, New Zealand, South Island. Not far from one of your previous posts - Greymouth. This thread is very educational: I now know that Moana Railway ...
  • Well, I wasn't born there so must be Aphrodite. So this is Aphrodite's rock near Paphos, Cyprus? Free turn if correct. Mike
  • Your memory serves you well! Reeth, it is. Your turn. Mike
  • Actually, I can take the free turn. Where is this quaint sign? Mike

  • Yes - It's actually around Hartland Quay (as shown in your link) which is a couple of miles south of Hartland Point, on the Hartland Peninsula in North Devon, UK. And yes, Lundy Island on the horizon.
  • Hint: the island on the horizon in the last photo gives its name to a "sea area" or "weather area", and as a consequence it's guaranteed to have its name spoken on BBC Radio 4, four times a day. Mike
  • And this is the beach... Mike
  • Another picture. Same place, different day, at the bottom of the hill. Mike
  • In an effort to beat Google image search, I'll have another try. Where is this? Mike
  • Hi Brian, I'm glad you did jump in! When I first tested the image it didn't show and now it does; a virtually identical image, in fact. I probably should have posted the other two images first but ...
  • Another view from the top, ENE ish: Mike
