Marty4650: Lets see if I understand this..... in a field of 12 cameras, only 1 has weather sealing, the Pentax KS2. And the only camera to be cited for "lacks weather sealing" as a con is the Panasonic GX85.

The other 10 cameras without weather sealing get a pass on this.

Was there any particular reason you expected weather sealing from the GX85, but not for any of the other 10 cameras that lacked it?

Funny the K-S2 isn't even in the line up anymore. That's what you get with a copy and paste approach to filling a website.

Opinion is not fact indeed......... Except of course your own opinion :p

Maybe each brand get's only one entry unless other options have a large enough sales volume on Amazon.

Mahmud Farooque: Guys please help me out. I am currently a Nikon user (D5100 with 18-105mm) but I want to move forward and torn between Pentax K-70 and Nikon D5500.
I am a Landscape Photographer and planning to get Samyang 10mm and 85mm in my lens vault.
Can you please suggest which one of these 2 camera or close around $800 price tag are good for operating these manual lenses ..
I am leaving out canon for having low pass AA filter

The Pentax can Pixel-shift making resolution (and noise performance) a lot better in situations where there is no movement (or when it is far enough into the distance). It doesn't actually increase the resolution of the sensor, but it makes better use of it because it cancels out interpolation of sub pixels. The pentaprism and weather sealing make it a better option than the Nikon. Also your manual lenses are stabilized by the Pentax. If you don't need tracking AF then it is clearly the winner over the Nikon.

I am not into mirrorless I just can't see very much use for on sensor PDAF in a dslr, since I want to shoot it through the OVF.

orion1983: They really should have gone back to 12MP wit a new sensor instead of pumping it to 18MP. Too much grainy noise even at low ISO settings. And too much texture being eaten up. Also very bad blurred and noisy contrasty edges. Really disappointing TO ME. Am hoping for a 12MP successor, as 18MP with a 1/2.3" chip can never reach a 12MP quality.

These lenses aren't able to resolve more than about 8mp anyway.

marc petzold: Dear Canon...thanks for...well....what...a plasticky 77D with inferior OVF?!...it's no rant, but look what Pentax deliver for that price.

100% All Glass Pentaprism OVF, 2 Dials, Weather Sealing "WR", not these heavy CAs at the edges. Named K-70. Also comes with IBIS _and_ PixelShift Feature, and also AA-less Sensor.

I really would have liked the new Kitlens, albeit F3.5 to F4 is very neglible, and from the specs, easier to design, reduced Lens Element count (now only 12) it should have give better IQ, from the CAs i've seen here, i must say i am disappointed. Nikon does this better with their Kitlens. (18-55 AF-P).

Anyway, i'd get the newer 18-55/4-5.6 as light Kitlens for my old 30D/40D, when the prices would come into the current 18-55/3.5-5.6 Range.

I've had hope that Canon would do a 15-55/4-5.6 STM, but we won't see this...sad, but true. Would be a good, cheap STM alternative for the 15-85 USM, albeit with less focal length reach.

I feel DPR is biased - 80% Gold Award?!

yes! even faults are pro's when you are popular. Never mind mirrorless weighs even less. Since it is throwback Thursday:

Your right about Pentax, but Pentax is the brightest kid in de class, but not the most popular one. So where Pentax would have gotten a big CON for not offering fast AF in OVF mode, Canon get's a big PRO for offering it in live view on a dslr. We do not live in a fair world. It is not important to be the best. You must be popular. If you are better but not popular, people hate you for it and they start ganging up.

Jefftan: Mirrorless is the future. Coming head of DSLR only a matter of time especially in Asia
People in Asia just hate big and heavy

"Mirrorless cameras make up a historic high proportion of these sales, and now account for 36% of all the ILCs shipped, though they make up only 25.6% of the value of those shipments"

Some people would like a law against dslrs just to confirm their step to mirrorless.

As long as there is no mayor innovation anymore it will remain pretty steady. Growth will come form emerging markets.

Dante Birchen: Head over to Imaging Resource and look at their shots. You get much more of of fool as to how this camera performs. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/sony-a9/sony-a9A.HTM#gallery

Apparently the camera also uses RAW compression when shooting over 12fps. Maybe sports shooters wouldn't mind but wedding photogs would and for landscapers and studio photogs that is a deal breaker. They should get the A7 RrII anyway, (or Nikon D810, Canon 5Ds, Pentax K-1 or 645z.) You could also ask yourself wether the Nikon D500 wouldn't be enough for sports. Much cheaper. Anybody who doesn't want to break the bank and is not obsessed with getting the absolutely perfect capture should just get that one.

Why are you calling yourself 'We' you silly man. Can't you argue as a singular person? I will not argue with people who think they are morally superior than me, for I despise them.

So I am allowed to have an opinion as long as you get to call me narrow minded which is an ad hominem which is sadly also the nature of discussions on the internet.

So the only opinion I am allowed to have is "anything goes" I am supposed to like everything for fear of threading on a poetic soul? Just keep my opinions to myself? You are speaking in platitudes.
