You got to pick the right camera for the job. You realize that the D5 is only useful down to 32 degrees continuous temperature per Nikons stats.. The Z8/Z9 go down to 14 degrees continuous cold ...
-
Because it's their current Z lineup. Sorry to say, DSLR's are dead, there will be no more advancements or firmware updates. Doesn't mean, they are still useful for now.
-
A Z8 isn't that much smaller than the Z9, I have both. Z8 is 30% smaller? Easier to carry, yes, but still not a compact camera at all. I wouldn't want to carry a Z8 on a long hike either... ...

Yeah, Exactly... Some people love to whine and complain about everything in life, unfortunately
-
Now it's $3699 !! And $3399 if you trade in a cheap beat up old camera. With Nikon's deals. I just got one at. $3399, new, traded in old beat up D3300 that I paid next to nothing for and the ...

Yep! I made a lot of $$ with that lens at weddings and event shooting. The new Z mount version is even better and smaller! That thing destroys the 24-120 in quality. You just miss out on 71 ...
-
Yeah, good luck with that. Esp 2 to 5 years from now down the road. Sorry, buy Nikon Z lens only and never have an issue with future compatibility or firmware updates etc. Nikon blocks Sigma when ...
-
Exactly, one thing Knowone has mentioned here yet. Depends where you are traveling. For some areas, I would even bring the Nikon. Exactly. You can crop in some on 24-70, esp if you have Z7.
-
Yep, perfectly said! The 35mm F2 (as long you stop it down, don't shoot wide open) is barely ok on the old lower res 12mp sensors. but on the higher ones, forget it.
-
You got lucky. Usually when it's squeaky that doesn't go away. it is failing, whether tomorrow or even a few year down the road, based on your usage.
-
It depends what you define a walk around lens. I use 24-70 F2.8 Z S as my walk around lens and for inddoor/party paid events. It doesn't get any better, except certain primes.
-
Yep, Nikon decided to use the older Generation 1 version. I would avoid this lens. It's not bad, but not great either. There is a reason the 24-70 F2.8 Nikon S is more than double the price.
-
I shoot weddings and events .. only with the F2.8 zooms. 3 bodies at the same time. 14-24, 24-70 and some shots with 70-200, does everything. No need for limited primes. Zooms are way better ...

Never use a rocket blower, unless it has the filter on it. I tried one back in 2009 on my than D3S. Actually made it far less, blowing particulates all over the sensor. I had to wet clean it. No ...
-
Sorry, thats why you switch to mirrorless. Don't have to worry about lens or body out of calibration for the most part. Most of my F mount was pretty good, but you could run into issues ...
-
Thats why no pros will be using it for their paid event photography. Just like the old F mount DF wasn't used either for that paid work. We don't want the worse ergonomics of a retro 1980's body. ...

Those same shots, background, bokeh could been done with the much cheaper 85mm F1.8S Z lens with lens blur in Photoshop. In fact, you can make the bokeh nicer with photoshop. Since that came ...
-
You can save a lot of $$, just. buy 85mm F1.8 S and than use the new lens blur in Photo shop and save yourself a lot of $$. You will get results that look same or better than the Plena. Sorry ...
-
It's a valid I agree with. If you can afford $2k+ camera, you can afford Nikon's $69 price battery. Or be a cheapskate and save $20 to $30, and than have a fire at home while charging the the ...
-
Exactly. You know the OEM battery will still work when Nikon upgrades the Firmware. Buy crappy 3rd party battery with possibly compromised or no safety circuitry to save $30, just spend extra $30 ...
