The RX100 III is still selling for more than $600? It's over 6 years old at this point and launched at $800.

PerAS: How will this lens compare to a superzoom camera like Panasonic FZ2000 or similar.

I once had a superzoom camera (FZ5) and large zoom that was easy to bring along was quite fun

The FZ2000 has a 1" sensor though, but it only goes to f/4.5 at 480mm. If you compare to something at the high end of 1" superzooms such as the RX10M4, that is f/4 at 600mm, which is equivalent to f/10.8 on 35mm.

t_ramoska: Why so SLOW Read 800 MB/s and Write 700 MB/s speed?
Sandisk Type B can do 1700MB/s and 1400MB/s

You people are actually clueless. The CFE Type A card in the article gets up to 700MB/s write, which is 5600Mb/s. The R5 only has 1800Mb/s bitrate for the highest non-raw recording, and 2600Mb/s for raw.

Please learn the difference between bit and byte.

bluevellet: Who?

A Chinese company that makes flashlights. I wouldn't be surprised if all these new Chinese cinema lenses are just rebranded OEM ones since these look quite similar in specs to the NiSi ones, down to the T2.1 spec on the 25mm. The NiSi also appears to be rebrands from earlier Chinese/Taiwanese OEMs. Check the comments on the article.

"Is there any reason to get so worked up over this? Someone listed the wrong prices. They are liable."

Sounds like you're the one getting worked up over a price mistake, so much that you wrote an article about it, and insist on holding somebody liable for the mistake.

Price mistakes happen all the time. With online shopping it's as simple as a typo. No need to get worked up over people correcting your article.

And to add on, you MAY have had a tiny chance if it was shipped and sold by Walmart, similar to how Amazon screwed up with Prime Day camera prices. Companies as big as Amazon and Walmart can write off a few million to save their public image, but a 3rd party seller will not and could not.

"At the minimum, they have to offer up a credit. "

And why would they do that? Walmart doesn't have to honor anything since it's a 3rd party seller. They have nothing to do with listing other than having it on their site. It's like asking Ebay for a credit if a random seller posted incorrect prices.

Mariano Pacifico: Camera makers are so behind technology ... wireless charging is century ago in smartphones in digital years ...

Try again and hit Submit button.

Toothbrushes have used inductive charging for even longer. It's not like cameras really need inductive charging or anything. It's a convenience factor for phones that need charging every 1-2 days but then again most phones don't have removable batteries anymore like most cameras do.

Under The Sun: Imagine that. As the time of this comment, the Fujifilm GFX100 has 100mpx for roughly 10K only. Amazing how far the tech has advanced.

Imagine a time when Fuji actually regressed in digital sensor size. Fifteen years ago a 52 x 37mm CCD would cost many times more than what it would cost to make a 43.8x32.9mm CMOS now.

Imager of: Why on earth would you need a zoom lens on a phone camera! Someone please explain the need for this?

Same reason why you need telephoto on any other camera? To take a picture of something far away?

Saying 16.7 million colors like it's impressive or something. That's only 8-bits of color.

Towards the end of the video you can see the miners pose awkwardly at night to get their photos taken. Seems like low light AF is still a miss on CDAF as expected.

bubblyboo: Should have added in 2 microSD UHS-II slots so they can actually utilize that full 1.25GB/s, although I don't know who would transfer 2 each of SD and microSD UHS-II cards at the same time.

Well at least a decent NVME drive is probably cheaper per GB than a UHS-II SD card. More cameras should just built in storage like the Zeiss ZX1, with the addition of a UHS-II slot though.
