Phill-M: I come to these Leica limited edition comments sections with a coffee for the angry/fun/haters comments, but I must say the creativity has strongly waned lately. It rarely goes beyond the repetitive Leica-is-doomed/just-jewelry/idiot-buyers these days, disappointing... C'mon guys, spice it up!
:D

@tailings
Sure, go ahead, suggest it.

On article This is the first ever photograph of a black hole (634 comments in total)
In reply to:

Fastguitars: So far, no one has been able to prove that this is actually a photo of a black hole.
But you are being sold/told it is, so, you might consider that.
Also, it has never been proven that a "black hole" even exists, or didn't you know it?
Ah, you thought it had been proven.....
Sorry no.
Its a theory, similar to the theory of evolution, and the big bang theory.
So, ask yourself why you believe all this is true, when it fact, its all theory?
Its the same reason that once you are told a photo of a black hole, proves a theory, ... you are certain it must all be true.
Think again.
Or, begin to think, would be an even better idea.
Dont be a media sheep.
Dont accept as truth, a theory, just because you see a fuzzy photo, and a nice write up.

@Fastguitars
Maybe you genuinely think you do, but from both what you write and how you write it, it is very, very obvious that you understand neither how science works, nor the meaning of even the most basic scientific concepts (yup, it is that clear...)
But ignorance is fortunately curable. We are all ignorant about one thing or the other, and we can chose to improve. Up to you, good luck.

tailings: I can think of several easy solutions to this 'problem'. For example:

Hire a fat, hairy backed man to patrol the street, naked. If any overtly obnoxious selfie opportunity or music video production should break out, said naked fat man will insert himself into the footage. Naked fat man need not be visibly present when not needed; he can remain hidden in a dark, quiet corner of a bistro, out of sight until his services are required.

If the Mayor of Rue Crémieux is reading this, feel free to contact me directly for consultation services. I promise to keep our arrangements private and will not share with Evil Instagram.

You guys clearly don't understand Social media... #NakedFatMan would become an Instant sensation and much larger hordes of selfiers, influencers and their minions, would flood any street rumored to have him.
Great for #NakedFatMan, not so great for the residents.

Love how people b*tch about the evils of social media, on social media..

(Psst, yes, the DPR comments section is also a form of social media)

In reply to:

NickyB66: I did look into this, currently I own an X-Pro2 and half a dozen prime X lenses and the newest Macro. I thought about selling all of it to go, half way at least for the Q2.

I went onto a popular Leica forum (no names) and I enquired about this new camera and ask what roughly the price would be. What put me off was some sarcastic comments saying, you should not ask the price, its like Rolex, Bentley, it is what is is, or something like that.

To me that was a totally pathetic and patronising comment for a serious question that does the Leica brand no good, especially when people are looking seriously, as I was in going the Q route. Of course there are many professional and talented Leica users, that goes without saying, however some of these pathetic comments on Leica owner forums do no justice to the Leica brand and just help alienate some users from the brand IMOH and just because they can 'afford' a red-dot camera does not mean they are all good or talented photographers.

Maybe I didn't get it, but please don't tell you base your purchasing decisions on what some randos comment in some forum?
Besides, the specs and prices of the cam are now fully available.

electrophoto: And that Ladies & Gentlemen, is the reason why you should invest in body armour and a helmet, when working in conflict regions.
Costs less than a decent load of camera gear.

Sure, but how exactly does body armour and a helmet protect your face?
He was hit everywhere, and it is the combo of vest, helmet, and large, robust camera that saved his life.

In reply to:

mckracken88: "most households readily spend $10 per month for online streaming services, and many times that for mobile phone and data services."

Not this household - ever. Greedy so and so's. The subscription is just a money grab, only pros would benefit from that, the average joe doesnt need dozens of insignifanct updates on a daily basis.

Shame.. lightroom was good.

Value for money. Ok, let's see,
Value of insurances: your life, health and future security.
Value of Adobe CC: Software you don't own, but will need to pay forever to keep your database.
Sure man, good comparison...

(BTW, your grasp of "value" is further undermined if you constantly pay $2.5 for a cup of coffee, instead of brewing at home for pennies.)
