(unknown member): what do the ** 2 asterisks behind many of the cams listed stand for? don't see a footnote quoted?

Will the software support only one camera or can you connect multiple camera's?

realmadeira: I hope dpreview will address the elephant in the room: image quality that is so awful that 10yo 18MP sensors look decent in comparison. Is there a low-pass filter on those? Why? Details look so mushed. Even 1 inch sensors look crispier than that

Isn't the problem the lens used? The Canon EF-S 18-135mm STM isn't even sharp on a 18MP sensor. Would like to see some examples on a better lens before I blame the new sensor.

cityslicker: Carey, there was speculation last week (after the "leaks" in Australia) that the uncropped 4K was actually captured at a lower resolution and upscaled in-camera. Have you been able to determine whether that is true, or whether the uncropped 4K is actually capturing 4K? I was watching Gordon Laing's video review and he shows the menu screen on the 90D for enabling "4K movie cropping," which includes this warning: "When using 4K movie cropping, camera temp. becomes too high both when shoot. and in standby. Movie rec. may not be possible." That language suggests that shooting cropped 4K runs the risk of overheating. Yet uncropped 4K should place even greater demands on the processor and the sensor. So how could this camera shoot uncropped 4K without overheating yet run the risk of overheating when shooting the less-demanding cropped 4K? The only way that makes sense is if the uncropped 4K is not really 4K.

Sounds like they did the same thing as with 1080p. Was also upscaled from lower resolution to soft 1080p. Guess we now will have soft 4k.

FoxShutter: Is it a collectors (final) edition or they are planning to get to the 100D to round up the numbers ?

I have the 100D here :) Was already released in 2013 in Europe.

kobakokh: I think the best product by Canon is... 18-135 STM zoom! He can solve 18MP sensor, 20MP sensor, 24MP sensor, 32.5MB sensor, and I am sure even 100 MP crop sensors in future! Great job Canon! But in fact its will be good for have 16-20MP camera with really low noises and high dynamic range (and not gigantic files because of 90D is not for professional studio photographers!) and better kit lens...

Yeah indeed, it's the megapixel race all over again. Yet my old 10MP 1D III gives me better pictures than my 20MP 70D with quality lens. Can't even see a significant sharpness difference at 100% zoom.
