Wow. 1099$ is actually great price when you compare it to TAMRON 28-75 beign over 800$ .. Any info on the weight ?? If this thing could weight a little bit less than the SONY lens it is going to be a killer.

Mariano Pacifico: 24MP is sooo yesterday. X-H2 will have 36MP comes 2021

Some time ago there was an official statement from FUJI where they were talking about sensors and their lens resolution. Pretty much anything bigger than 28mp was mentioned as an overkill.

36mp on X-H2 ? What for ..that maximum details Fuji lens can render is at about 28mp. More mega pixels what change anything.

MinAZ: I don't understand... how are they able to accomplish this in Lightroom especially with a preset? Don't you need to write a plugin in order to do these AI functionality and/or extend the capabilities of Lightroom?

Of course, you need a plugin..they 've accomplished it with "Marketing BS"

appelton: I am wondering what is actually "Patent Pending" in this case. It's not a plugin just some ACR profiles bundled with presets. Since when you can patent settings in lightroom ?

I've seen DVLOP ACR profiles. I am not saying they are bad however this is not an ENGINE. These are still just profiles , there is no programming involved as this is not a plugin, so it's hard to talk about the engine as the only real engine here is Lightroom itself in this case. As for situational based presets it has been used in presets many times before. Take a look for example at Mastin Labs. They 've been doing that for a long time just without bundling them with proper ACR profiles.

But you can't talk about "ENGINE" this is pure marketing BS...ACR profiles are just a bunch of sliders put together into one file.

Thoughts R Us: Unanswered questions as of now:

1) How many megapixels? Most rumors have it pegged at 36 MP. While that would be amazing for such a fast framerate body, would it be too much? Thom Hogan has noted that sports pro's are under intense pressure to get their work out ASAP and so larger files aren't always the most conducive to that. Wildlife photogs would probably welcome the extra MP for crop-ability.

2) What will be the max fps? On the current a9 it's 20 fps. So will they increase MP while keeping fps the same? Or will they also increase fps. 20 fps is already amazing and one also has to ask, at what point do you have too many fps, to where it gets difficult to sort through and find the best shots, given the quick turnaround expected for sports pro's.

3) Lossless compressed RAW? Given that the A7RIV doesn't have it and would most benefit from it, probably not.

4) Smaller RAW formats, like sRAW or mRAW, for those who want smaller files?

Exactly ..SONY has to introduce an option for smaller size RAW files. The new a7rIV would be actually awesome camera if they had given an option to use SMALL MEDIUM and LARGE file RAW files.

I am not going to use CAMFI PRO PLUS tethered to my computer with these monster files if I don't need them.

Color science is really weird on the A7RIV . They have absolutely nailed the color on the a7III. I wonder why they bothered to change it.

kelstertx: Hmmm, this one light, or SIX (and a half) of the Godox SL150W that do the same thing? LOL, pass.

I totally agree Sl-150W is not meant for outdoor use. GODOX has to step up their game and come up with something cool here.
One thing ...It's 16320 lux but with fresnel head ..not parabolic soft box. So probably with parabolic modifier it would be closer to 10000k. Much less powerfull.

milkod2001: Those Rotolight NEO II LED lights Jason Lanier was promoting so heavily looks like super bargain compared to this.

Power output of NEO II is not enough for outdoors. Rogolight AEOS is much better for that but still...it's just not enough powerfull.

Ok..so now let's wait for GODOX to make something more powerful in 499$ price range.

Illumitran.
Although they are a bit pricey at the moment. Mine was only £30.

It's super interesting. I just 've found one Illumitran. Do you know if it's possible to do 120mm film ? Do you need additional adapters ?

I just hope they 've added different RAW sizes other than the 60mp one. If not then I am not interested. Being forced to shoot everything in 60mp is a no no.

Have you tried shooting anything over ISO 1200 on 5DSR ?? Nope thank you. It's not even close to 7RIV

Nice but way overpriced. The ones worth buying are : http://filmcamerapresets.com
