They do. Very noticeable even on my low mpix R6 with the RF 70-200 & 24-70.

Similar experience with my R6. Only difference, I shoot in mechanical shutter most of the time. On several occasions, all on family vacations, my camera locked. The red led kept flashing as if the ...

When stating equivalency (FOV), one must also apply it to the f number. The ef-m lens is an 51.52mm f/2,24 lens. So I wouldn't call the results similar. From my experience the AF of the 50mm art on ...

Landscapes and "static" portraits are the two things where the R is the better option IMO. Because of it's resolution. 30MP - 33MP is what I consider to be the sweet spot. 20MP is adequate. But ...

In my experience, if you take several pictures in a burst, the first picture suffers the most. Some pictures within the same burst exhibit no blur at all. 1/160s is where the problem is most obvious. ...
-
It is my understanding that this is a common issue with mirrorless models. My guess is that there are more shutter vibrations compared to DSLRs, since the sensor is exposed at all times. The 1st ...
-
These could be vibrations from the shutter mechanism. Just to rule this out, try to use 1st curtain electronic shutter. Shutter shock is most pronounced around 1/160.

Sold the R recently, for the R6. For portraits, YES. The eye-AF is just as good. For tracking moving subjects however, NO. The R6 is vastly superior in this regard.
-
Can confirm, unfortunately. My R lived in mechanical shutter mode, since the issue was not nearly as prevalent. With the R6, I have to use 1st curtain below 1/200 or limit the auto ISO to a minimum ...
-
With my R6, I use mechanical only above 1/200 due to very noticeable shutter shock. 1st curtain is completely fine for 1/200 and below. Electronic also works fine, but you will be unable to use ...

I swapped the v. III for the RF a couple of months ago. No noticeable improvements in image quality, focus speed or IS for my use case. Also lost a big chunk of money on the trade. You also lose ...

You cannot set ISO to AUTO while the metering is active. You can set the metering timer to the lowest setting of 4 seconds and wait before changing. Once the metering stops, you can set it to AUTO ...

It could be a possibility that these are leftovers from the assembly, yes. It's just a little strange that more and more specks kept appearing. Initially there were none. As for my bag... it leaves ...
-
That is true. However I had several externally zooming lenses, including the notorious EF-s 17-55, and I never had large specks inside the lens. Just some dust, but not like this. Anyway, I was ...
-
I was wondering if any of you experienced dust issues with the RF 70-200 2.8? When I have purchased the lens, it was perfectly clean. Then after some time a speck of dirt appeared under the front ...

The sensor on the EOS R is great in my opinion. I'm more surprised that the metering underexposed this scene so severely, and with +0,33 EV dialed in.. Did you focus on the light source?
-
I use it all the time when I want to track something specific and there is a face in the frame. If in Servo AF you manually initiate tracking of a subject (by selecting it with the initial Servo AF ...

Last picture from the EOS R First picture with the R6 I just bought the R6. It’s an absolutely fantastic camera. The only downside is that I miss the 30mpix from the EOS R, more than I thought. Whe ...

This is the first time is see a 236 MP stitched panorama used as a lens sharpness test.

May it serve you well. Sample variation is certainly a thing. My RF lenses are not perfect copies either. But I also decided to keep them and stop looking for defects.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
