I bought the M3 a couple of months ago and it took some time and headache to get used to it after using Canon's APSC DSLRs. When the news of the M5 broke I got itchy, and it does seem like an interesting camera. However, notice it is really 630cm3 as compared to 332cm3 of the M3. Of course, that doesn't include the EVF of the M3, but since that is modular it can be carried separately and taken out only when needed. An also noted that I paid some 650€ for the M3 + 18-55 + EVF, while the M5 would set me back 1300€ for body + 15-45. And since I mainly shoot slow moving scenes the M3 really takes great pictures.

I would like to see this machine compared to the Olympus Stylus 1s. It seems to me that camera strikes a more interesting balance between many desirable qualities.

On article Enthusiast compact camera roundup (185 comments in total)

Every camera below the 1D level is a compromise, and the best camera is the one I have with me. More often than not that's my iPhone. But when I'm too lazy to carry a DSLR and still hope to catch something my iPhone does't, my compromise includes some zoom without a lot of weight and bulk, and many of these so-called enthusiast cameras have too little zoom to be useful. The right compromise for me is the Stylus 1, plenty zoom, a little larger sensor than a 1/2.3, bright lens, lovely viewfinder and very pleasant general handling. I suppose the Casio EX-100 is very similar - a little more compact, but no viewfinder (and not available everywhere).

Is there a way to list all gold awards? Or have a list of scores of cameras?
