latreloar: I only just downloaded the new Lightroom Classic & CC updates last night was so impressed with the interface on both and how fast but now after reading this looks like my digital photography tools are going to cost me another $50 a month for forced image storage in the cloud eventually ..... when Classic is axed which it will be for sure. This is OUTRAGEOUS
Adobe are holding us to ransom and I shall be leaving which is a terrible shame because for the last 3/4 years I've been a subscriber of Adobe CC photography Plan and have enjoyed the whole experience for £10 a month it was reasonable and affordable and for me as a semiprofessional photographer I was willing to pay but looking at the future to come it's probably going to end up costing me about $60 plus a month and that I can't afford so I shall be leaving and I should be looking for alternatives right now, what a backward step Adobe and how very disappointing greed greed greed . :( I am fuming! LIGHTROOM CC credit card indeed!

Hi, you wrote: "I only just downloaded the new Lightroom Classic & CC updates last night was so impressed with the interface on both and how fast but now after reading this looks like my digital photography tools are going to cost me another $50 a month for forced image storage in the cloud eventually ....."

As I am running Lightroom CC Version 6.3 I tried to download the updates mentioned here but got the information, that the version is up to date. Is there anything wrong here? As a anoterh article says that LR classic had received some upadtes as well? I am confused. Thanks for any help...

PKDanny: Congrats to Sam yang for first autofocus lenses.

A bit late to the party, what I cannot see is an MF/AF switch....but all in all that's a great move by Samyang or however they name their lenses...

guatitamasluz: why didn't they make the 50 F/1.8 full time mf like the Canon cheapo 50 F/1.8 lens?

Lan Kasu: Thanks, didn't know that, as I bought the 1.4 back in the day when I started out with a 30D.

I was about to make a move to sony for low light and looked into the possibility of purchasing an a7sII but their price tags along with a limited lens line up to choose from made me cringe and stop. The adapter discussions couldn't help either to convince me, as some lenses just don't work...in the end I bought a Canon 6D instead and a Samyang 14 F/2.8, after insurance fully covered my 5D3 loss along with the 16-35 F/2.8 USM II and don't regret it. Next lens could be an Irix 11 F/4.0 once it's officially announced and shipping.

straylightrun: Does the a7sII focus with adapted DSLR lenses as fast as the a7rII?

The lack of an affordable FE prime like a 50 1.4 by third party or sony itself made me withdraw a pre-order on an a7sII. Maybe within two years, we will see decent lenses at Canon and Sigma 50 F1.4 prices... don't like the 700-900 $ish Zeiss or whatever 50s or 55s if Canon AF lenses sell at half of the pricetag...so till then...;-)

it is not that easy, Aroart...
Canon can do it without
But as it has been said in this thread,
artefacts appear by using low ISOs and pushing in post...

Kavu: The a7s III is slated for release in Europe in late November.

Is the RAW compression still persistent?

"Sensor like this one has probably a NATIVE ISO of 204.800 or 102.400, so, YES, it is impressive in every way." ... Just two words: great news, if these ISO are correct.

if it won't be translated into DSLRs, I still hope that they have some other similar tech in their sleeve to equip upcoming 6D/5D and 1D bodies with...

Someone over at CR said:
"4K is the leading edge of video, this requires almost 9 MP for 16:9, not 2-MP.
The specifically for video probably mean things like: ways to eliminate moire; possible global shutter, or at least minimized rolling shutter; possible RAW video, pixel binning for lower resolution modes; ultra high readout speeds for slow motion (240 fps or greater) etc."

Andrew Booth: A feature no-one needs, paid for with poor picture quality.

This will always have 10x lower resolution than a normal camera. Not good.

Well, folks we should think about it some 10 to 20 years from now. Remember the humble beginnings of digital photgraphy? Some 30 years ago? Don't miss that one! We cannot judge the whole concept merely by its state today. We got to judge it by its potential. I strongy support it. Further down the road we will see. Pedro

digitalweddings: thank you DPR, how about the same for the D800?

I like every photograph from ISO3200 up to 102400. As I prefer b/w in the robert frank "the americans" style this is the perfect camera for me about 18 month from now. I even dare to shoot my current 30D at ISO3200 (H). Great to see that. All that I was hoping for. Can't wait to see the RAW then ;-) Cheers, Peter
