ttran88: This 30mm f1.4 is designated C or contemporary lens, why? I'm seeing a trend where the ART lenses are sharp from Max aperture. I have this feeling at f1.4 this lens isnt going to match say their 35mm f1.4 ART. Regardless the price reflects it.

Can you explain what those red and green lines means in the chart?

Jonathan F/2: Where is the Coolpix A replacement? Why is Nikon is still playing with small sensor cameras?

only about 3 time of 1/1.7. Still very small.

Lee Jay: The 50-100/1.8 would be a ton more interesting and useful if it had OS. It's not as important in the 18-35/1.8 because of the shorter focal length, but the longer one really needs it which is why most of the 70-200/2.8's for full-frame have IS or are attached to a body with IBIS.

I'll keep my 18-35/1.8 but I won't buy the 50-100/1.8.

while Canon's 135 f2 has no stabilization either but one of the popular lens.

kevindar: maybe time to sell my sony 35 1.8.
I really hope sigma releases more good affordable primes (and zooms) for the emount. They would make a killing if they designed their 17-50 OS for the e-mount, and may be a 1.9 in 19-22mm range.

yeah...

Smitty1: I would really like to see a 24-85mm (equiv) pocketable, fixed lens compact with an APS-C sized sensor and optional EVF.

Looking at the example photos, the 1" sensor just doesn't resolve enough detail imo.. APS-C is closer to a goldilocks sized sensor for a compact.

actually the image quality are really sucks......

brownie314: Sorry to anyone investing in the 1 system who had faith Nikon would bring the fast zooms. These lenses could have revived the 1 system. But instead they are put in a fixed lens body. Thanks Nikon.

Agree OP.

When you look at these sample images, you may not want to buy it.

In reply to:

spatz: My last Canon was a Powershot G2! I seriously thought I would give this a try, tempted by the large sensor and 24mm wide angle lens, and the promise of great dynamic range given the large pixels. Unfortunately, the image quality does not look like an improvement over my RX100, the lens is soft, and the sensor appears to have limited DR despite the low pixel count.

THE MARTK 2 DOES HAS highliht/washout problems and very soft lens. To me these samples are closed to G15/G16. Nothing amazing.

But why no 1080p60 video? Is canon still having issues with Digic 6 and 1080p60 video battery life?

Agree, just couldn't understand Canon.

Photato: Me thinks, there is a lot of software lens correction to fit that lens.
So no comparisons to the M or SLRs
I don't see anything exciting in the video department, same old stuff, not even 60fps at the lowest resolution.
Anyone wanting to make full screen HD videos to fit iPad 4:3 retinas, would have to make 640x480 videos. How retarded is that!
And for those who have iPhones, Kindle and Nexus tablets in 16:9 HD video the lens is not longer 24 but 28, so much for the multi-aspect ratio. lol
And the lack of PDAF is not good either for real life amateur videos.
Another intentional crippled Powershot. i pass

Agree. Very disappointed in HD video part. I believe not only it does not have the manual control over the video, it also sad to see no external video input. Just watch video clips (3rd) in Canon USA, you can hear clearly background noise... Will pass too and waiting for M3.

The pages only go up to 7 and don't cover the awards that Canikon won (which should be pages 8 -> 100).
Please rectify.

On article 5 Reasons why I haven't used my DSLR for months (593 comments in total)
In reply to:

oselimg: So it seems the author didn't take commercial/professional purpose photos in the last few months. Could this be why he hasn't used his DSLR? Sure it makes sense taking compact point and shoot cameras along when shooting casually. It all depends on what you want to do with your pictures. I don't think it is a case of chosing one over the other.

This is nonsense article. The picture quality is not better than Canon EOS-M which only coast less than $300. He is just promoting SONY RX and FUJI......

so good. I did a couple of panoramas using 6D. However, when stitch them together, not good using Canon's stitch program. What software did you use?
