walgarch: I'd love to see this in a Pentax K mount. I wouldn't mind upgrading my existing Tamron 70-200 to one with a silent motor and weather resistance

@Mistral: And it's only $500 more than the Tamron...

TFLO Photography: First reaction.. looks only a mother could love. But hey I'm always game for a new camera. Start to read the details, APS-C instantly lost a lot of interest. 24MP too many pixels for this sensor unless it's some new generation magic sensor.

High ISO specs mean nothing. How good do the images look from base ISO to 6400 where 99 percent of us shoot? stills AF should be great, video not so much. Well at least they kept the price in check for a mag alloy body. Poor Pentax, just can't get it together. Fuji's first real digital camera lands in 2011 (not counting the Nikon bodies) and by 2016 they are crushing it. Today Fuji sells a boat load for every Pentax that is sold. This sensor needs to be amazing if Pentax expects decent sales.

jonny: " by the way pentax already near the announcement of 100 million medium format camera for 8000 dollar probably who will kill the fuji format".

Are you actually trying to say Pentax has made 100 million MF cameras?

"pentax had a complete sealed system in 2011 when fuji produced only point and shot".

And how far has Fuji come since 2011 compared to Pentax?

this week Pentax K1 will have over 2500 comments.

Are you counting your numerous, up-to-the-minute scorekeeping posts in the total?

kobakokh: and: warranty of shutter is 300000... This is one of the basic advantage of K1 against any other cameras... Is it?

It is not "warranted" for 300,000 actuations. If the shutter fails after the normal warranty expires and the camera was rarely used, say 5,000 actuations, you will have to pay for the repair. :(

DDWD10: C'mon, K-mount. Us Pentaxians are counting on you, Sigma, to produce the lenses Ricoh won't!

Yes, DDWD10, but Ricoh seems to have Tamron producing their new lenses - not Sigma, unfortunately.

brendon1000: Wow. More than anything I am seriously impressed with the price ! At this price I don't see why anyone would buy a 3rd party lens.

"At this price I don't see why anyone would buy a 3rd party lens."

Huh? This IS a 3rd party lens - made by Tamron.

Mark Parren: Looks like you are using a Native Watercraft Kayak, very sable! Have had mine for years, and venture out with thousands of dollars of photo equipment without worry.

Agree. I spend hundreds of hours each year in marshes, ponds, small lakes and bigger waters (when calm) taking wildlife shots from my Ultimate 12. I love the fact you can even stand up when necessary to get shots.

It seems a lot of the voters have no idea what makes a good photo. Pictures of honeybees sitting on a flower are a dime a dozen. Your shot is unique and tells a story from a perspective rarely seen.

I believe I gave it a well-deserved 4.5.

Terrible comparison review!

I did learn that Pentax is "owned by RyeKoff", though.

Class A: Cool, this lens looks like my next buy for the forthcoming Pentax FF.

" The lens will be available in Sigma and Canon mounts next month, in Nikon mounts in April, and in Sony mounts later in the year". Will you be using some kind of adapter?

@ Joerg V.

Unfortunately, when you combine 24 average-quality shots, you get one large average-quality shot.

In reply to:

James Bligh: I cannot find a word about internal reflection and shutter shock issues of D750 in this review. Please point me to it if I missed it. When dpreview never even mentions (not to say evaluate) the issues, you can no longer say dpreview review is a comprehensive review which I think is a shame. Once renowned for its objective reviews and a comprehensive source of information about camera gears I am afraid dpreview has fallen into the realm of mediocrity many review sites share. The present generation of dpreview staffs may have wasted their talent and ruined the reputation of dpreview. Phil Askey will lament over it seeing the prestige he has built up tainted.

It would appear that either NWT is short for NitWiT, or he has some weird agenda.
