Damn, I just put in an order yesterday for some shoots. It's gonna be hard missing this film for future paid gigs.

If you push into the OM-D E-M1 II you won't regret it. Apart from some very advanced features it's basically a current Olympus flagship. The PDAF alone is worth it in my opinion. Gordon is great. ...

Hello there, Can anyone tell me what the additional crop in IS mode 1 (ibis+digital) comes down to? How much does my 12mm turn into for example? Also, does setting the IS level to -1/+1 impact the ...

It’s pictures of cows but this guy really shows what the G80 is capable of imho. https://klaasfoto.tumblr.com/

I've found face & eye-detection to work really well also. However I do have to use exposure comp often when shooting faces. E-M1 III always seems to underexpose a bit. I usually dial in +0.7 EV.

Nvm I misread your initial post

Olympus have commented that they shot this (anamorphic) vid with the E-M1 X. Wonder how they went about it. https://youtu.be/4CYumeJyl-8

I’m obviously responding to the question regarding why Olympus would call it an f/4.5, when people here are equating it to an f/9.0 in FF. In this particular case the equivalence is all about DOF,...
-
Yes, but in theory due to the larger FF sensor you could shoot those short exposure times @ f/9.0 and retain the same image quality. I think both the Olympus and FF models can get fine results....
-
It's an f/4.5 lens. If you shoot an f/4.5 lens on full frame or m43, you will have the exact same exposure settings. Equivalence is all about depth of field. You will have the same amount of things...

I beg to differ. The E-M1 III (and X) are very capable for video. Sure, they might not be up to spec compared to a GH5, but they are better in one very important way. Autofocus you can rely on. ...
