Oh my word... owners of the FZ50 celebrate and rejoice! Panasonic has heard your prayers, and they have finally been answered... well... kind off... maybe... somewhat... <sigh>

Okay, so it is not the spiritual successor to the beloved FZ50 that the model number suggests... Its not a bad enthusiast camera... just not nearly as good as anything that the the FZ50-60 would have become if it had evolved over 6 years of development.

I guess that Panasonic feels that many of the enthusiats of the FZ50 era have long moved on to a GH2 or G3 type micro four thirds camera; that they can simply forget the pedigree of the FZ10/20/30/50 lineage (the abomination that is the FZ40 doesn't count).

The FZ50 reprsents a bridge camera era when Panasonic and Fujifilm used to offer stunning enthusiast bridge cameras (does the bridge camera category even still exist, or has it been replaced by the large sensor mirrorless camera category).
