Just like in the 80s and 90s Japanese were better at making British convertible than Brits. Oh well Japanese make pretty much everything better than Brits.

A 500mm f5.6 is nice companion to second body with 100-400. A 400mm f4.5 needs a 1.4x extender to get 560mm F6.3 your call really, but I would stick to longer prime if price weight both not far off.

Tell you a joke. I preordered Aputure Amaran 60X led light 8months ago at digidirect. Yet to receive a single email regards to ETA.

I think it is overpriced compared to 500PF. 400mm is easily covered by 100-400 but 500mm is the start of wildlife prime territory. Plus 500pf can be adapted to other platforms. $3295 400mm prime vs...

Of course there are some lenses render more artistic in colors and more realistic in dimentional perspective at the same time. But this 40mm F2 isn't one of them.

In this day and age, there is no secret sauce or magic to be found in a double Gaussian 6 glasses 4 group 40mm design. If you believe so, you are probably one of those can tell the hi-fi speaker ...

Thanks for sharing your experience with 14-35L. I think Canon certainly knows what they are doing and priced it accordingly. But a lot of keyboard experts can not cope with the fact it was priced ...

Voigtlander 50mm APO Lathar is a top performer with no software correction needed. But it is also a manual standard 50mm prime lens for $1000. Whether the trade-off is worth it only you can make a ...

Exactly. Old gear repurposed and utilized in new applications. R5/6 as a webcam would not be much different after EOS utility 720p cripple
-
If 720p is sufficient and you set up a light, any old Canon would probably be enough as long as they have DPAF. Not to say anything wrong with using R6, but I prefer rigging up a spare camera for ...

Nikon users do not have the RF 16mm then. I rather having 16mm and choice of 14-35f4 and 15-35f2.8 normal filter than 14-30f4 and 14-24f2.8 front giant Lee filter. The only issue is Canon wanting ...

Isn't EOS utility only 720p max resolution? At that point why use R5?

What a pair of bargains! Canon always outdoes its rivals on pricing. Nikon announced $14k 428 and Canon fights right back with $17k and $20k.

It makes sense from their business perspective. They literally said in financial report they are over 50% of the mirrorless market in units sale. If you were by far the leader, Why would you want ...

No issue with mine. I use control ring to change shutter speed or aperture when I am shooting vlog type video.

I know Sigma 28-70f2.8 is a quality lens. It is a niche product nowadays. I believe consumers prefer lightweight wider range with variable aperture than narrower range with fixed aperture. Canon ...

I predicted 32mp apsC sensor R7 will have this year so fairly close to full frame 82mp. 24fps raw sounds awesome. Now Canon just needs to release R7 with R6 level af and oversampled 4k 60fps 10bit ...

I understand that but the comment I was referring to seemed to consider panasonic 20-60 heavy, which is only 350g. If 400-500g is acceptable, there are many possibilities what manufacturers can do ...

I personally think extreme lightweight zooms are never successful. Canon 24-105STM is probably the best of the bunch. Ancient Nikon AFS24-85G is another good one. Recent Nikon 24-50 and the like ...

Surprisingly some of the oldest EF lenses have not been discontinued like the EF 50mm F1.4 The hope to get a mid ground 50mm RF prime option from Canon has gotten slimmer. I think by the look of ...
