I appreciate articles on my two favorite hobbies - hiking and photography. I try not to nit pick any images that are used to illustrate the author's work since, in this case, I don't believe that pure image quality compared to other format cameras is what he's getting at.

I personally don't do many strenuous hikes anymore (although Van Trump Park is getting close to that category) but I have done a couple of very tough hikes in the last few years (Mt. St. Helens back in July of 2015 as my example of what I consider a tough hike). In all my hiking I want the most weatherproof, quality imaging tool I can carry without being so heavy it takes away all enjoyment from the trek. I'm 74 years old and find I can manage my E-M1's with the 12-40 f/2.8 just fine. I do, however, agree with the author of the article that hiking with gear that's as light as is possible. I suppose my only problem with the Pen F is its lack of weatherproofing.
