Placed 40^th in the challenge. taken very early in the morning, while camping near a beautiful beach on Cruit island ,Donegal, in northwest Ireland. It is a place I enjoy very much for the peace, the beauty and the often stunning light.

nice pictures, 400mm 6.3 and sharp.   I like the picture of the lizard a lot.  Hope some company arrives with a tripod support.  If it is RRS, it's going to be good, but expensive.

I have the Tokina and am happy with it, but I would consider also the Nikon 80mm macro, a stabilised aps-c lens.

You're wright.Everybody was happy they made finally a successor of the D300 and as a consequence they made a successor of the D90.

very nice pictures, seems you can get pretty near to that bird.

Of course a 150-600mm is better for birding, but this lens is nearly half the weight. That means you can take it with you on any walk, just in case. I wouldn't do this with a 150-600mm or 200-500 ...
