Not so very long ago the situation was radically different. When 36 MP was as much as you could have - in a D800 - it cropped down in DX mode to about 17 MP. Around that time the DX D7200 was ...

At the centre of the issue is the OP seems to have limited post processing expertise - meaning several PP suggestions are of little help to him or her. I agree 2 images at different focus distances ...

What is not clear is how sharp the moon would have been in the image - if you had focussed on the moon instead or taken a second image. My speculation is with atmospheric pollution combined with ...

The estimate indicates Nikon has found more damaged than just the door. I hope you had it insured.

The thread is 7 months old, my 100-400 is only 5 months old - and I have no experience of the Sigma. My experience is the 100-400 (at 400mm) plus Z 1.4 TC combination can give very good results. I ...

You seem incapable to me of responding in a fair manner. You just "edited out" from what I wrote "There are minor amateur events in the UK where a photographer can get very close to the course - ...
-
Sorry - 2 shots and then post processing seems the only solution.

I am satisfied you did not reply reasonably taking account of what I posted. Some could regard your suggestion that when someone responds to your making what seems to be an obvious misleading posts ...

Please - try not be as untruthful as some web posters! What I wrote was "At perhaps the more amateur level of the sport where getting close to the action is often easier a 70-300 P can be enough in ...

It can be interesting to speculate why some can get Nikon AF to work as it should - and some cannot and then complain. In the background I found a fairly big AF learning adjustment time - about 3 ...

Same for me - and no doubt just about all Nikon, Canon and Sony long lens owners. The reason might be because the heavier a lens is the more likely a "solid" lens hood is to become dislodged while ...

My Z7 can also do this - in Normal VR mode. Nikon USA say what you seem to be observing is the lens VR group re-centering in the optical plane - about 4 minutes 10 seconds into ...
-
Probably yes. As far as I know Nikon gives no precise information. The VR performance is usually quoted for NORMAL mode – implying SPORT mode has slightly less VR ability.
-
4 minutes 20 seconds into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsv3YXnWwt0 Nikon say Sport mode prevents the VR group re-centering in the optical axis of the lens. IMO Sport Mode is with a try.

One plus for Nikon is that they provide lots of choices. One minus is which of several options to choose! In a similar shooting scenario I would also choose a monopod. When walking perhaps 2-4 ...

If you say I am always right - why not act accordingly :-) What I - and I expect most taking a practical approach - say - is the Z6 an Z7 are "mid range" cameras that can do many things you seem to ...

The Panomoz warranty is likely underwritten by an insurance company - and relies on repairs being possible. I understand Panomoz use Johnstones in Glasgow for Nikon repairs. For a complex Z9 issue ...

Nikon is likely to put a later version of Expeed in any D500 ML replacement - with the probability of faster processing even with a higher MP sensor.

You can set the "i" menu to VR using Sport mode - sometimes in under 5 seconds. Pressing OK after the VR selection is needed to confirm the setting.

In the UK there seems to be a moderate level of fraud claiming delivered goods were not delivered. What you describe is in consequence less likely to happen for high value items in the UK in 2023. ...
