All 3 of them photos have pretty dang good IQ! especially the first at ISO800!

beats alot of compacts at that ISO.

the last pic has quite a bit of detail!

Peiasdf: Very very bad per pixel sharpness. I still think Foveon or other 3D sensor idea is the future of small sensor photography.

let the 38.4 mp close up photo load all the way and then look. pretty dang good for a cell phone cam.

mike_2008: This is a better test than the well-lit fried eggs iso3200 shot seen earlier in the gallery. In well-lit areas it looks OK, but in the shadows just mush.

I agree, with the sensor size we cant expect miracles, but i did expect a little better. Im sure the AF is pretty nice though if its faster vs the d3s.

Yea not much detail to see in this pic. Im going to have to say maybe 1 stop better vs the S95/g12/xz-1's jpegs

Matthew Nelson: Nice features. This beast has got to retail for at least $2500 - $3000.

Is 3D here to stay?

3D is here to stay. Soon 3D glasses will be a thing of the past(think nintendo 3ds) and it will be on every TV(think 1080). Its just one of them things.

munishkm: a bit too expensive... should've been a $800 cam.. but still very tempting. :) i wonder when canon and nikon is gonna make cameras like these...

pixelsensible, The 16MP sony sensor is currently the best sensor ever made. It has high DR VS any camera...ever! Its sharper vs the D700!

Sooo....no need to stay at 12! i do really wish they would have put the 16mp sensor in the NEX7....that would have been an INSTANT sale to me. I would pre order it RIGHT NOW...I love the high ISO capability of that sensor. Its a proven GREAT sensor.

But, with the unknown 24MP sensor...I will have to wait for the review.

win39: This is kind of unsettling for a few reasons.

dpreview has made it clear that they have limited reviewers often in explanation for cameras not reviewed. Anymore completed careful reviews are available on other sites for weeks before dpreview gets beyond their hands on preview. The Panasonic G3 for instance.

Now printer reviews are to be taken up apparently. The first review, on a<digital>photography review site, reviews the scanner portion, which would not be used for digital cameras, of multipurpose printers and not the printer portion which might be used to print digital photographs. Huh? Actually one can get more balanced printer reviews on computer sites like MacWorld.

This just looks like an expansion for the purpose of expanding the clicking on Amazon.

I actually wasnt talking to Simon. He just posted right before i did. I was talking to win39.

Well....I think you are somewhat correct. BUT, I kind of look to DPreview to *confirm*, what the other reviews say. I almost never buy a camera right out of the gate. I will say that with the OLY XZ-1 they came out the the review nice and fast. It was....nice.
But they do have missing reviews STILL, of TOP end cameras....like the 1D mk3. I still want them to review that camera!!!!

How about some sub forums for the for sale and wanted thread. IE: Canon, nikon Oly, M4/3, Pentax, Sony, Manual focus, Point and shoot, and lights and tripods ect...

If you dont do this, finding something is going to be like a needle in a hay stack!!
