PedroMZ: IQ, 2 stops worse than the Sony , and unlike the LX5-7 no EVF option. Expensive and disappointing.

It's the same sensor....

Their camera would blow up from me judging it too much.

scoobysnapstories: Reliable and fast AF in all situations? you sure this is accurate? question, where is this all situations taken at? im confuse. i have an iphone 7 plus and so far, low light moving subjects cant be tracked down quickly enough; specially in downtown LA.

You can pick up a S7 and breeze though it, with more advanced AF then the D5500.

vscd: Even google can't change physics... the quality on low light is terrible. Otherwise ok.

It's has a sensor the same size as point and shoots 1/2.3

JSmitty: The best camera in the world only costs $26! Now THAT is a bargain! Well done, Apple.

IPhones haven't had the best cameras in quite a while.

noflashplease: Generation 5? Enough already. In 2016, who is actually updating their compact point and shoot camera....every year? Actually, who's still buying a compact point and shoot in the era of the smartphone?

I doubt anyone upgrades every year. But maybe every 2 years or 3 years. Or when ever someone's feels they want to. They are now hitting a price point where I wouldn't consider this camera. 1k is a ridiculous price for this. They could have atleast weather sealed it.

If only this would take fuji lenses and had its color profiles.

I would consider this camera if it had a less compromised 24-90/110/120/135 2.8 constant or 2.8-3.5 lens. I've always disliked 24-70 lenses due to lack of range. I don't care about the whole 1.8 at the wide end thing.

Rihass: It's the latest device. If they manage to screw that, they better find something else to do. Apple always says that on stage. "This is the best iphone we've ever made." No kidding. Apple you're the only ones making iphones and you had a year to add some features to the phone. For god sakes stop with the non sense advertisement.

Quarter, great point. It's currently happening. The iphone5s and up or any brand name Android with a snapdragon 801 or higher and it's all negligible. All phone sales are slipping and even mid range devices are pretty much good enough for 80% of the population. I went from an Samsung S5 to an S7 and the differences aren't THAT noticeable in regards to straight speed. The camera is 100x better. But I never felt my S5 lacked in performance.

karlkk: all top cameras use basically the same 12 mpixel sensor.be it samsung , xiaomi or iphone.differences are very small between them regarding picture quality.overall , iphones have the best software - therefore will fare better in extreme situations regarding focus and exposure.
nothing has really changed since the iphone 3.picture quality is about the same .sorry guys.

Also... The Samsung S7/S7 edge/note 7 has the fastest focusing Camera in any mobile phone. Period. Some come close. But not in all situations. It uses dual pixels like canons dslrs

It's not the same 12mp sensor. IPhone 7 has a 1/3.0, the Samsung S7 has a 1/2.5 and the nexus 6p has a 1/2.3. The 20+ mp Sonys also have a 1/2.3.
Iphones have not lead in the camera department since the iPhone 4.

vFunct: The iPhone is best.

Android phones should be banned for being bad and trying to copy the iPhone all the time.

Apple is just too good, and they invented the smartphone industry.

IPhones haven't had the best cameras in phones for a couple years now. This year being the same. Still not exceeding the S7 /note 7/HTC 10. Just another evolutionary step.

Mike FL: >>> "reveals Sony image sensors in iPhone 7"?

Even a decent Chinese phone maker will NOT use Samsung sensor, but SONY sensor only.

Ummm the S7 uses a sony or a Samsung sensor and it regarded currently as the best camera out. Fastest dual pix AF and all.

I think the rx10mk2 would give this a run for its money. Around the same DOF.

Also internal zooming

I didn't even notice this has internal zooming
