Focusing: Very clever and inspiring photograph. (I would've never thought to do this, (now I'm going to try it too! Thanks!)
Makes me want to see more of a wider angle of the same shot.
Great creativity and Very cool.

To fill a wider angle would require a slightly slower shutter speed, perhaps 1/2 to 3/4 seconds, giving the balls more time to travel. This one took about 15 attempts before I got the desired affect.

Smile231: Hi, I'm a former Air Force Combat Photographer. Why this photo didn't finish in first place is outrageous.

Thx for your comment, and your service, ......perhaps because it was taken with a borrowed compact and not a DSLR, haha. Right place, right time.

I doubt it since they've been in service since the early 60's and the Army has since replaced them with Patriots in the mid-90s and the USMC replaced them with Stingers 15 yrs ago..... HAWKs are old technology

Neglected to add that she was fully loaded with AIM-120 and AIM-9 missiles and several GBU-12 laser-guided 500# bombs........there were a few other fully armed F-16Cs alongside waiting to refuel as well

Thx, I had an SLR back home in the closet but my compact A610 was handy and did the job. Could it have been better? Probably but the conditions may have changed by the time I returned.......

kkardster: Interesting how far off the trigger his finger is by the time the shell was ejected. It's nice of the shell to pose its punctured primer!

Most likely since the lever hasn't fully completed it's cycle

The March date threw me since they're most always held in the 2nd week of July.....been going since the late 70's and had the honor of shooting civilian, police and military categories.

Why do most of the lake scenes appear overexposed, especially 030A9552 ?

Why not call it the T6? Will some not buy it because the T5 sounds like the less advanced version of the T5i (improved) which came out a year ago?

Great shot, interesting

Robert,........much too small for a military base which needs a tarmac, support buildings and hangars, i.e., have you ever seen an aerial shot of Nellis AFB? Google it.
Judging by the housing and access I'd say it's a small private airfield for affluent residents.

Hank3152: Bugs worked out yet? On multiple displays the left/right arrows blink and are hesitant to advance to the next pic.

I'm using IE9 with Windows7. The arrows flicker/blink when the cursor is near and disappear when the cursor hovers atop of them but then appear about 10-20 secs later.
