Thanks! You’re right it looks just outside that range. Probably will have to drive south to the Niagara Falls area to see it.

Toronto seems to be at the very edge of that line. Would I have a good view of it from Toronto or would I have to travel more to the middle of the grey line on the map?

Hi PRatna. I’ve just kept using my 5D4. I’m pretty happy with it and the Spot AF accuracy is outstanding. Plus with a lot of people complaining about freezing issues, paying all that money to ...

thanks for all the replies folks. a follow up question on the e-shutter…is it completely silent or can you turn on a ‘fake’ shutter sound so we know that photos are being taken?
-
Hey guys. I've read an article or two from a couple of years ago that showed the shutter shock issues with some lenses at certain shutter speeds affecting the sharpness of the image. I'm wondering ...

It's streak free and almost all of the spots are gone. There are a couple of small spots left but I'm not going to keep cleaning the sensor to get it spotless. All of the big ones are cleaned. Cheers.

I did not know that. But the sensor seems fine at a glance. I used this cleaning kit: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1200221-REG/visibledust_17741820_ez_sensor_cleaning_kit.html

Yeah I agree with your advice. I did a quick wet clean myself yesterday and got the sensor relatively clean. Since it's not oil, i'm good to move on to the shooting as planned.
-
If it's dust its not a big deal. If its oil then I have a faulty mirror/shutter mechanism that I would be worried about. Like I stated, I don't care about the spots if its dust. If its spitting out ...

Yeah it doesn't seem like an issue with 5D4. I ended up doing a wet clean myself and got the sensor relatively clean. I'm done with it though. I just wanted to get a decent clean so I can move on.
-
Hi all. I just wanted to check the status of my sensor to see if there was any debris in it. So I set my camera to F22 and shot the sky. It seemed ok with a few specs of dust. Then cranked the ...

Thanks. It's listed for $6100 Canadian dollars (Approx $4800 US) and has less than 2000 shots. Would you say that's a low price?

It's listed for $6100 Canadian dollars (Approx $4800 US) and has less than 2000 shots. Not sure if its a killer deal but seems decent compared to some of the prices I've seen online for used copies.

Thanks for your input. I get what you're saying. The 1DX3 is no doubt an amazing camera. I guess I just need to think over if I really NEED it or just want it. I'm pretty happy with the 5D4 but in ...
-
Yeah I hear you with all your points. The logical step would certainly be to go into the R platform...For some reason though I've been enamoured with the 1DX3 lately so I just wanted to get ...
-
Yeah I can't refute any of your points. I'm not sure why I've been drawn to the 1DX3 lately. Maybe I need to step away a bit to re analyze everything... Question for you about the R5. I understand ...
-
I haven't considered an APS-C body due to having to shoot in low light situations often. Plus I found the 5D4 AF to be better than the 7D2, so I would want to upgrade the AF if possible. In all ...
-
I probably would keep both..But I guess I'm just wondering for my scenario described in the the opening post, would it be worth getting the 1Dx3 or just stick with the 5D4?
-
Hi folks, I shoot with a 5d4 and saw a decent deal in the local classifieds on a used 1dx3. For people who have used the 1dx3 and the 5d4, how much of a difference is there with the smaller ...

How good is the AF is someone was just going to use a single point and basically make sure they put the AF point on the intended target and track it manually? Thanks
