Mark Alan Thomas: Once again the usual swarm of emotionally distraught red dot haters — each one a uniquely untalented photographer motivated by frustration and rage at being poor — has infested the latest Leica thread. How nice.

So how does villagranvicent manage to view himself as a 'superior' photographer [to anyone in particular] based on what he perceives here. Sounds like putting others down is how this person makes himself feel better. . . just because someone else makes a dumb/stupid remark, then the obvious it to do the same thing. . .??? it just him sounds bitter, sad and feels sorry for himself

Not a 'fan boy' of anyone here. . . just not liking the dis-respect expressed here by anyone, no matter what side of any issue/opinion. We are not talking about life dependent issues here.

Get a grip guy, your post goes beyond what I read in those posts. Yes some of those posts are based on little beyond how the camera looks and costs, but for those making those statements there is validity of their perspective. . . maybe not yours. . . your 'reply however seems to show that you base your opinion on virtually nothing. How are you qualified to judge their talents in photography or any other venue. . .

Meanwhile we are still waiting for a cure for cancer.

BAZAAR. . . the Apollo Program's 'balance sheet' shows no PROFITS and neither did Dr Salk's research, and neither did the 'Newtonian' experiments. . . so folks that's how we'll move forward as I'm sure this business person feels towards donating funds to his favorite political candidate/charity/church. . . nary a Profit on those balance sheet either. . . some under the table I'm sure though.

Frank999: I used the FZ1000 now for over one month. I'm very satisfied with the results so far. I'm used shooting dslr full frame with good glass. I bought this camera for traveling/hiking trips because of the weight.

I agree with the review that the image quality is excellent, but it should add 'for the money this camera costs'. It can not compare with the quality of a dslr full frame with good glass, but that option costs at least 5 times more, so forget about that comparison.

But what about the video quality? that is amazing, never seen before. The result is superb. Very sharp, good colors and excellent handling. Just plug in your microphone and use a ND filter. You really will need that ND filter in bright sunlight. Excellent, I'm very happy with this camera.

How about some info on the ND filter. . . factor #.

I'm not so worried about the privacy issue, as a 12 gauge could 'regulate' that problem. I am concerned about those idiots who fly where they ought not to be [several encounters at airports] and is a indication there will be issues as more idiots get their hand on these potentially valuable tools. RC model airplane enthusiasts for 7-8 decades have flown their aircraft, virtually with out problems or regulation, but now we see the X & Me gens beginning to change all that. Recently we've seen theses machines be weapon-ized with semi-automatic pistols.

I work at a non-profit county park and we have had to ban these machines due to a few idiots only thinking about themselves. . . As a photographer I'm worried that the few will ruin this 'tool' for all who use these aircraft prudently and with consideration.

RE, the Nikon P900 >> Apparently I did not read this review closely enough, as I was intrigued by the long zoom and went to a camera store to check it out.

I was totally surprise that there was no hot shoe for a longer reach when lighting conditions dictated. . . this made no sense as I was a seriously considering a buy and now am NOT. . .

It could be I missed something, but with out a hot shoe, or some other option, and needing some flash assistance beyond the usual pop up flash reach of 10' ► 15'+/-, this seems to be a silly/stupid omission by Nikon

I see value in BOTH. . .???

FZ-1000 HAS +fully articulating LCD +5 axis stabilzation +2x zoom +TimeLapse . . . does NOT have -sealed metal body - slow motion @ 960fps -stacked sensor. . .??? Then the pricing differential [Pany as low as $670 vs $1300}. . . still a tough choice

Am in the process of shopping for the Lumix FZ1000. . . the Olympus, by not having a larger sensor is keeping me on track to buy the FZ1000 next month, though I like the build of this and lens speed it offers,

VERY IMPRESSED. . . finally a vari-angle screen+ weather seals+time lapse. . .specs are looking like this 'rig' ought to be a good sales producer. At first glance I am not sure what " can produce 4k video from stills " is about. . .?

"Supportive shooting functions:" . . . is this similar to Oly's 5 axis stab. sys. or ?

What entry level Interchange Lens Digital 'enthusiast' shoots 440► 1200 shots on any given "opportunity"?

Why can't I see the Panasonic LX100, then?

I suppose the large pockets in 'cargo pants' works as part of that pocket definition. . .

KZMike: Pany has put all the goodies in one package [incl Time Lapse + a sensor larger than 2/3] I've been wanting in one package. . . though I do like the top LCD & body that the RX10 has, the FZ1000 wins out. This will be my every day snapshot + video clip camera. . . still will be using my Nikon & Canon APS SLRs for the 'special'/more serious use photos.

Now I need to convince Santa. . .

Need some help understanding the Page 9 Jpeg comparisons. . . the Sony RX10 Jpegs are much larger than the FZ1000, which seems to make the comparison confusing. . . at least to me. . .

pdelux: Another nail in the coffin of the M4/3 format. Not long now before this Format dies as the experts have predicted. How can anyone survive with so many brands using it, too many lenses to choose from, too much competition.

Whats next Kodak back from the dead with M4/3 mount?

Yeah. . . pretty much like the 35mm format for film cameras. . . everybody was making them and now. . .?????

Finally, someone figured out that even with the hefty margins there was not money to be made and the few cameras that were sold did not create a enough of a favorable 'brand image' in the market place, to off set the losses
