Hi Jerry I've seen your leopard shots from South Africa and they are stunning. The only shot I managed there (Kruger NP) on my October trip was on the last day through a very dense thicket using ...

Hi Rivi Great pics of the leopard. Must've been an amazing feeling to see one We were in Sri Lanka for a wedding in Colombo 2018/19 staying in Negombo. We made a day trip to Wilpattu but didn't see ...

Yep, looks like you are right! On the R8 the Custom Settings (C1/C2) option is greyed out on the Yellow (wrench/spanner) menu part 5. I guess I was confused as it's possible on the other ...

Another option, setup a custom setting (C1/C2) with the pre-shot option and then just turn the dial when you want to use it. I don't think I've tried this but it should work. Cheers Paul

I was able to focus on Water Dragons in a reasonably dark environment a while back and I had it set to eye-detect. But I guess not all lizards are the same. Agree with SamuraiDog that Turtles ...

That's always a polarising factor lol. I mostly just filled it in and used the viewfinder. In terms of holding up, I was using it almost daily for admin in a busy commercial environment and it held ...

Yes I watched this. The comparison was nicely done. Hand held and in camera combining of images seem to be items that might make it useful. Another YouTuber Rob Trek was using it with his omds om1 ...

Very nice Bob Reminds me of my sister's artwork which is also abstract. Was this from a drone? Cheers Paul

Nice, it works for me. I guess a pump organ requires a second person to operate a pump/bellows to get air through the organ pipes? I seem to recall a foot pump version of that but maybe those ...

I usually photograph around Sydney's Bicentennial Park in the suburb of Homebush and I haven't seen one of these there before and I am pretty sure they are not that common in the area. Not the best ...

Hi John That's great to hear. Did you notice anything new or better at all? I'll upgrade after my next trip. Cheers Paul
-
Hi Morris. It's very interesting to read your approach to using a tripod. I've always looked at a tripod as something I don't really want to carry rather than something that can lead to a better ...

Thanks for reply Morris and the kind words. I shoot hand-held with the native 100-400. I just find tripods and monopods inconvenient as I move location a lot. Yes I definitely sway etc when I'm ...

Hi Paul Nice shots Really like the whispy clouds and softer tones of the second one Cheers Paul

Hi Morris That's a fantastic shot. I tried the new update last weekend using pre-shot in direct sight of a small bird on a branch and for me it was still occasionally jumping between the eye and ...

Doesn't sound like much 1. Adds support for the Software Development Assistance Kit (EDSDK/CCAPI). 2. Fixes minor issues. Had to type in R8 firmware specifically in the search as it wasn't in the ...

I wonder what issues they fixed. To be honest it's been a great little camera. I'm reluctant to upgrade the firmware because I'm off on a vacation in a week so don't want to risk breaking anything. ...

Got an opportunity to try the camera out using the Release Priority in AFC (instead of Focus Priority) yesterday and got the full 40fps. It was a revelation, so many in-focus shots, so many shots ...
