I notice no difference in sharpness and contrast between B+W filters and cheap filters under normal conditions. When I shoot under flare-prone conditions though, B+W performs better, but it's ...

I upgraded from 5DIII to R6 on its first day of release. It's my happiest purchase in ten years. I thought I would be using both at the same time but soon I realized I wouldn't want to use my ...

Thanks for your reply. I don't get the logic. You say it's unfair to compare it to a prime or f4 tele zoom. But you find it nearly as sharp as the RF 50 f/1.2L and RF 85 f/1.2L. I agree with you ...

I'm curious rather than dubious. According to tests by The Digital Picture the lens is not really sharp wide open, compared to, for example, the RF 85 f/1.2L or RF 70-200 f/4L. The sharpest lenses ...

I have the EF 70-200 f/2.8L II IS USM and RF 70-200 f/4L. The difference in bokeh between f/2.8 and f/4.0 is night and day. I would not rely on the RF 70-200 f/4L for portraits. As another member ...

I happen to have all of the 3 lenses you mentioned. The 135 f/2L is legendary. Its bokeh is of its own class. But as an older lens, it can only shoot at about 5.8fps if you use mechanical shutter ...

The RF 70-200 f/2.8L is a drastically different lens to the EF 70-200 f/2.8L. It's more like the RF 24-240 in design. I don't like about the large girth and long focus throw of the RF 70-200. With ...

I tested on my EF 135 f/2L and EF 85 f/1.4L. I was able to reproduce the phenomenon. Exposure in the final image is correct though (same as my intended setting). This does not happen in video ...

Thanks for sharing. This thread is of great interest to me. I've brought up several video issues with RF lenses in this forum and I've got a few very good replies. But I also discover most ...

I counted how many pics I got with the same timecode. Expect about 6-7fps on these lenses. The lens I used to test was EF 135 f/2L, which is pretty old (designed in 1996 if I remember correctly).

Did I overlook anything in the specs? 8K raw would be a pain to edit.

I have the same experience. On a windy day at around 10C, I was able to shoot 4k60 on the R5 for about 2-3 hours non-stopped. I was setting the camera on a tripod by the window. The wind serves as ...

From my experience, if my R5 heats up when I shoot 4k120, it takes ages to cool down. It becomes unusable even in other modes. I have an R6 as my second body so the combo is adequate for my need. I ...

I have used the EF 85 f/1.4L IS and R5 combo extensively, for both stills and videos, for two months now since I purchased it last November. I'm very happy with it. It's much better than the RF 85 ...

I helps a bit on the EF 135 f/2L. You would expect a safe shutter speed at around 1/30s when you stand still. Video is steadier than on DSLR without IBIS, but it is still too shaky for my liking ...

EF 85 f/1.4L IS USM is the most all-rounded and it is my go-to lens now. It has much better color, contrast and bokeh than RF 85 f/2. The bokeh of EF 135 f/2L is even more creamy and beautiful. It ...

Agree. Excellent topic! I didn't even know there's a 'generic' option before reading this thread. I've set the tracking to 'people' all the time.

If you want a sharp lens RF 35 f/1.8 would be a good choice. It is even sharper than my RF 15-35. Some reviews say it has terrible though, but it's acceptable to my liking. On the R5 with 1.6x ...

Definitely. The latest EF lenses are superior to consumer-grade RF lenses in terms of color and sharpness.

IQ wise the EF 100-400 version I and RF 100-400 are similiar. I would save up a bit and get the EF 100-400 version II later. That's a lens you won't regret getting.
