two pics taken with the R6+EF-S 55-250 STM this afternoon

My understanding is IBIS works in both stills and video modes. This is the case with my EF 40 stm and EF 135 f/2L. I can comfortably turn off digital IS when shooting video and the footage is ...

Where did you know about this? I'm eager to know more. My decade-old 350D kit lens, the EF-S 18-55 (no IS, no STM) does not work with IBIS. On the other hand the EF-S 55-250 STM works perfectly. I ...

All are good lenses, which produce decent image quality. I have the EF-S 55-250mm STM with the R6. With its 5472 x 3648 native resolution, the 1.6x crop factor would mean 3420 x 2280. To shoot 4k ...

This demonstrates 50mm is the worst focal length for landscapes. Even 70-200mm may do the job better.
-
This is really nice! it fits perfectly Anyone knows if any similar hood would fit on a EF 70-200 f/2.8L II USM?
-
The EF 70-200 f/4L IS II is a good choice as long as you don't mind the length (particularly with the adapter). Its minimum focusing distance (1m) is not bad, and has similar weight as the RF ...

One of the below pictures is taken with a Huawei smartphone and the other with 5DIII + EF 16-35 f/2.8L II USM. Below ISO 800 smartphones give very good details, and as tkbslc said, better dynamic ...

Very accurate comment. This is exactly my experience with smartphone cameras, but you express it in words more succinctly than I could.

For focal length I tend to use a lot I would buy the RF version despite its higher price. I go for the RF 15-35mm instead of the EF version. The EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS II USM is the same as the RF ...
-
The RF 35mm f/1.8 is very sharp. It's sharper than my RF 15-35mm at their respective maximum apertures. I find the 35mm focal length more versatile than the 50mm. But given the choice I still ...

As long as it's not a variable ND filter, which is generally thicker, I don't find any vignetting problem at 15mm. Sometimes I even stack UV and ND filter when I don't have enough time to replace ...

same experience with the RF 15-35mm. It's not completely flare-free; it makes the flare and ghosting less visible by giving better contrast. I always use the maximum aperture when shooting backlit ...

asp-c 45mp would be unusable above ISO 6400 Continuous shooting speed used to be what differentiates the 7D series from the 5D series. But now the R5/R6 has 12fps and top-notch AF. An asp-c R ...

Yes Canon new mirrorless bodies are so much better that it's worth upgrading. For RF lenses we can wait, except for lenses which have significant upgrades over their counterparts in terms of IQ ...

Everything is better on the R5 than on the 5DIV. It's like a point and shoot camera. Only your 16-35 and 100-400 lenses can enjoy the high speed continuous plus mode for 12fps shooting. For older ...
-
R6 has better high ISO performance. ISO 25600 is still usable to me. It produces sharper 4k60 footage. In other aspects R5 is better. AF tracking speed is the same on both.
-
Under the switch it does not have the matte look of my RF 35 1.8. It looks more shiny as if there's a film coating, maybe for water sealing reason.
-
My mistake. I meant the Stabilizer On/Off switch. Maybe I should send to Canon to check
-
Anyone has idea what it is? Is it for weather sealing on L lenses? It detached a bit and I just stuck it back. In the pic is RF 15-35mm There is no such 'film' on my RF 35 mm f/1.8. I don't have a ...
