snapa: I think... if you need an inexpensive video device, this GoPro is the best non-professional choice can buy. If I'm wrong, please point me to any other device that is better, cheaper, easier to use, *water proof*, or smaller.
If you can't, I just made my case, thank you!

There are bunch of $150 options.

Still using tinier sensor than middle range phones?

MLEDs are overrated.
XDR display has comically few dimming zones (only 576 total)
G9 neo has 2048 dimming zones but still shows local blooming

OLED display has MILLIONS of dimming zones on the other hand.

GT2RS: Maybe 0.95 is too ambitious..why not Laowa try to make a ok to decent 1.4 before you make a failure-0.95? To me this seems a too quick jump to 0.95. Would rather have a decent 1.4 lens rather than 0.95 with carrying extra weight and cost for something that is really workable and too soft. Anyways…That is just my personal opinion.

Because there are tons of decent, auto focusing 1.4 out there.

Orsonneke: As it isn’t sharp wide open, this lens does not make sense!

Uh.. you really think the text is sharp?

It looks like a picture taken with my old AI-S 50mm 1.4 wide open.

Maybe still sharper than 50mm 1.0L....

nerd2: We already have sigma 35mm 1.2 which is razor sharp full open AND can nail the AF on moving subject. Why do we need soft MF 0.95 lens at all?

I have absolutely no problem at all using my 35mm 1.2 with AF. 99% of images are sharp and contrasty. I can use it full open to take picture of my son running around with confidence.

On the other hand using a fast MF lens requires a lot of patience even on static subject (both the photographer and the subject). In addition this lens shows softness, glow, flare, contrast drop at wide aperture.

Picture #3 is not sharp at all. Zoom in to his eye and it almost looks like it is out of focus

So twice the size, weight and price. Just swap a new motor on old one and that would be more than enough.

EXkurogane: Ryzen or go home.
Screw Intel.

Ryzen 5900HX is slightly faster AND consumes almost 30% less power than 11900H.

This laptop is a joke compared to Tongfang GM7ZG8P which weighs only 2.3kg (compared to 2.75kg), has faster Cezanne CPU, and 140W power envelope for the GPU, and non glossy display.

That's the whole point.

Just converting raw files will use 100% of your CPU power, at least for a few cores. And using eGPU is largely pointless (unless you are locked into apple) as a small PC (often smaller than eGPU box) doesn't cost lot more than buying eGPU box.

GPU performance jumps up to 50% every generation (2 years), and recently CPU performance almost doubled thanks to the Ryzen CPU.

Uh.. we all now have PHONES, which can be used as 12+MP spot meter.
24mm lens have ~74 degree FOV, and 12MP sensor has ~4000 horizontal resolution. Now you have super accurate spot meter with <0.02 degree viewing angle.

I know there are enough stupid people out there, but why waste your money and time when you ALREADY have 100x more capable device in your pocket?

Milky way is roughly -8ev. With a f1.2 lens you need ISO ~25,600 to get 1 sec exposure, and you need ISO 409,600 to get 1/15 sec exposure to shoot a video.

And A7s III goes up to 409600 just as well.
