a somehow funny camera, but in terms of price this can be a DSLR-killer for birding, wildlife, safaris - the cost is really really competitive in comparison with a dslr and a tele-lens (say the 80-400 with teleconverter, or 400 prime with teleconverter etc.) - not to speak about the weight in comparison!!! you can actually walk up kilimanjaro with this... looking forward to some image quality analysis.

hoxton fives: Having a look at the comparison with other cameras, does the preview really think that image quality of the x-e2 is better than the one of the nikon d5300? just a question to make sure I understood the review properly and the benchmarks. thank you.

and sorry another one: the focus accuracy of the nikon d5300 is worse than the one of the x-e2? there is not much to be considered than anymore for a dslr?

Dear Dpreview Team!
You rated the canon 70D at the same image quality as the nikon d5300... surely that can't be right? generally I feel that you don't focus enough on image quality as that is surely the most important category?

R Vaquero: Waiting for the D300 successor...here you are! ;)

the buffer capacity is 12 to 14 in the 1.3 crop mode which features the 7fps. so thats about 2sec shooting at full speed. not sooo bad for many uses?

I am sure that this is a great camera, however I am suprised by your comparison tool. If you compare the sony to the new nikon d3200, the nikon d3200 gets a higher score for image quality raw, but a lower one for image quality jpeg whereas dpr says in the review that the jpeg renderings yields mushy detail. and the sony gets a higher score for iso low light performance, whereas the dxo mark score reveals that the nikon is much better (not surprising, as the translucent mirror takes away light). so I think that this review is not altogether balanced.
