Nikon is using the “S” tag to differentiate their higher end and more prosumer lenses. The differences appear to be weather sealing, variable aperture vs constant aperture and build. There’s no ...

Like most reasonably competent review sites, DP will be taking their time to actually review the camera properly (z6ii - z7ii isn’t out yet) It says a lot about the YouTube “reviewers” that they...
-
The real issue with Sony isn’t their cameras - they have produced some excellent cameras and lenses - it’s their commitment. They do seem to have slowed a little lately, and both Canon and Nikon...
-
@Revenant - that wasn’t my point. Olympus moved to m4/3, yes.. but the market as a whole, and certainly those buying are moving more to full frame. My point was more that Olympus misread the market...

Those comparing Nikon to Olympus have missed one huge key difference. All Japanese camera companies have a tendency to be stuck in the past and be reluctant to push forward real innovation....

Oh, and the menu options will become second nature pretty quickly. Nikon’s menus are logical and well ordered - it’s one of the reasons I like and chose Nikon in the first place.

Yes, if you’re changing non-CPU lenses often then it’s worthwhile having it easy to hand. I’d go through your manual lenses and set them all up in there in one go, so all you’re doing later is ...
-
Go to the setup menu and select “non cpu lens data” Enter the details for your lens and then you will be able to select it, then attach lens and IBIS should work:
-
You need to enter a focal length in one of the custom fields and then select that lens - that will enable the IBIS. If you don’t, it doesn’t know the focal length so can’t enable IBIS as it doesn’t ...

Glad you sorted it. Mirrorless cameras can seem a bit weird with sounds and clicks and stuff after DSLRs...

I missed that one from my list. The weatherproofing is extremely good and it’s an important pro for me. You can have two cards for redundancy all you like, but if your camera stops working after a ...

You notice a sound difference between lower and higher shutter speeds and between mechanical and EFCS.
-
More likely the opposite - EFCS would reduce the shutter noise - when on mechanical shutter it has to close first then open
-
Don’t forget, on mirrorless cameras the shutter is open by default (so you can see the image in the EVF or on the back screen) - it then closes, opens for the exposure, closes to end the exposure, ...

The pros of Z that are important to me: - Ergonomics - the Zs feel better to me in the hand. - 2 function buttons near the lens mount - Familiar menus and options and general setup - ...

Well, my views are biased in as much as I chose the Z system over the others..
-
It’s impossible to answer - at the end of the day every opinion will be just that - an opinion. Everyone values different pros and cons in any camera, and what’s important to you will be different ...

My comment was nothing to do with the actual comparison but more about why the reviewer is making a comparison at all, and indeed a judgement on a camera that they haven’t reviewed or have final...

In your comparisons: Nikon Z6II - "The Sony's AF system is more effective and easier to use, but the Nikon does a better job of letting you jump from video to stills and back without having to...

Do you mean the z5 (title) or z50 (post) as lens choices would be quite different!
