Cinema EOS system? I hope no new lens mount :D ef, ef-s, ef-m, rrrr ...

I have been using canon for decades but in last year(s) I'm leaving them completely as they left ef-m and all the users using it.

toomix: looks like a great lens, but lack of autofocus will make focus-stacking difficult

I guess you guys have never experienced focus stacking using auto-focus :) nevertheless, enjoy your process you like

thank you for the excellent video again, you hit the point, Canon with new RF just almost double the prices and you do not get what you are really paying for. Unfortunately, this "Volkswagen" is trying the "Mercedes" segment ...

Mistral75: The US price ($799,99) is oddly high.

The price in the Euro zone (€699 including 20% VAT, €582.5 without VAT) corresponds to $675.

The price on OMDS's Japanese online shop https://shop.olympus-imaging.jp/product-detail/index/proid/6113094 (¥87,120 including 10% VAT, ¥79,200 without VAT) corresponds to $693.

$699,99 would be more in line with the European and Japanese prices than $799.99.

Are there some tariffs involved?

@alouette I have visited Swiss as a tourist and trust me, not a Swiss has been milked :)

Francis85: I wish them good luck.
But imho M43 doesn't have a long future ahead.

It is a bit like Netflix; When they started 25 years ago they were sending out DVD's. When looking for fresh money one of its main investors said he was not willing to invest in a company that was short sighted to be solely in the renting of physical DVD's where streaming would be the future to come. And he was right. Netflix adapted and is now marketleader in videostreaming.

This is the main problem imho with OM Systems.
They are short sighted and too much fixed on a single system of which each year less and less cameras and lenses are being sold. Innovative in their own segment, but not willing to look what's beyond their own system and being overconfident in the ability of it just when the market is gearing up. This is where Fujifilm excelled, they are looking beyond their APS-C system and found their niche in small medium format securing its future. Not so with OM systems

I'm afraid you do not know about what you are talking about :) M43 will be a long time, computational photography what they have announced will be available sooner on the smaller sensors than a large one. Have a look on the apple what they did with their iphone sensor + computational photography and you get an idea

4sofnature: If it cost $299 I might think about returning to M43.

oh this "40mm F2.8 (FF EQ)" ... it is DEPTH OF FIELD on the level of FF f2.8, you get f1.4 light to the sensor, this is what you pay for

$299 for a pro-level f1.4, weather-sealed lens? :D

you hit the point, this would bring many ef-m users back to the system

it is more a jewel than a toll, I bet output is amazing but it does not justify its price

ZeroOne01: Fan noise is one of key items I'd check when it comes to computers/laptops.

I can't stand those fans wizzing and wooshing on the Intel MacBook.
It was worth getting the M1 Macbook/Mini just for that.

Does MBP M1 have a fan? I have never heard mine running … if it is there

jonby: Will be great for Fuji users if it does come out in that mount.

Current Fuji offerings are (B&H prices):-
10-24mm f/4 WR - $999
8-16mm f/2.8 WR - $1499 (reduced from $1999)

Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 - $829

Nice to have options.

I bought fuji for less than 800, comparing to tamron it is 10mm vs. 11mm, having WR and OIS … fuji is a clear winner here :)
