Hi, I am also interested in any photography or tourist tips for NY as I will be there 1st or 2nd week of July before returning to Germany, so I am bringing this one back to the top. I will travel ...

FWIW, it tested my cameras and, my RX10IV and RX100VII seem to have nearly identical IQ from 24 to 200mm.

The RX10 IV is the best bridge camera money can buy! I should have bought mine much earlier and actually safe some money on my MLC system! It is big like a DSLR but covers 24-600mm FF in one lens. ...

First and formost, enjoy the trip and Paris! ;-) Yes, shoot RAW to get the most out of your images in post! Also, pack a small table tripod for additional low light support to rest on benches, ...

Yes, this is probably the smartest way. The small 200D doesn't add too much bulk and weight to the Sigma lens.

Raw brings the most out of the Sony. If you don't care for darkroom editing, then use the largest size for jpg. There is a thread here somewhere for specific custom JPEG settings.

Very good answer, thanx! It tells me that the benefit for me of having an additional VA is marginal. Btw, I am enjoying the RX 100VII more and more...

Thank you for sharing your experience and wonderful images here in the community! One more question about using a VA in parallel. How much of a benefit is it in reality to have the "slighty" ...

I would get Sony RX10IV as Swiss pocket knife style camera. I should have bought mine way before I upgraded my APS-C system....

I actually considered to sell my M gear, but the prices for sellers are down and, it it seems to take more time to sell than about 2 years ago. For now I'll stick to it.

Very nice light, I like #2 the most. Thanx for sharing.

I am with you on this, but articulated screen! ;-) However, I prefer flip screen or, alternation like the new Sony version as found on A7V... :-D

If you can afford only 1 lens, the 30mm covers more ground on APS-C sensor. You can do general stuff and portrait. However, the 56mm lens is much nicer for portraits.

The classical approach for versatilty is 18-135mm or, 18-200mm.
-
The solution for light weight is Sony RX100VII, used in RAW plus Topaz and DXO tools for darkroom work. G5X II is ok too in case you don't need 200mm.

Larry, you can always leave the house with 3 M6ii bodies and 3 different lenses mounted to be ready for anything! 🤗
-
Thanx for coming back on this! All clear now.

Could share the specifics in more detail? I am curious because I skipped M5... 🤔
