Reality is that the best camera phones are from Sharp, Xiaomi, Vivo that actually use quality 1" sensors with good enough optics for them. Those 1" do not outperform by much Sony RX100 or similar...

The problems with tiny mechanical shutter as found on A7C are 2 fold.

The 1/4000th limit is unpleasant during summer but there are workarounds - move to shad, use ND etc.

EF lenses will be usable on all mirrorless cameras for many years to come. EF is full electronic and there are plenty of adapter to all possible mounts - E, RF etc.
