ttran88: Kodak is now worth 700 million. Were they ever worth this much during their film days?

Dang, no such thing as too big to fail.

The times are moving too fast for canon.

One can happily be a pentaxian for life. Excellently made products that built to stand abuses.

Canon sales down, profit down, this is becoming old news. Not surprised one bit.

entoman: If the UK is going to suffer badly from coronavirus, it looks like things could be far far worse in the USA:

USA will be fine, don’t test anyone and just blame any death on the flu and you’ll be all good.

onlyfreeman: What did photographers ever do to the coronavirus, why does it hate us?

It’s scary to know there are folks so ill informed roaming around freely with a virus outbreak. If they don’t care for themselves sure go ahead and get infected but please don’t run around and spread it to other folks.

There is some truth to your statement but com'on how are you expected to do BIF with a smartphone or this Leica? All that IQ in the world won't be any good if you can't keep up with your subject.

$18,995 gives it some room to go $19,998 with an updated version next year and still be under $20k.

entoman: Very good article Barney. The biggest issue is that we must all try to keep this whole coronavirus thing in perspective.

Compared to seasonal flu, which kills 400,000 people every year, it's probably less dangerous. Also, unlike seasonal flu, most coronaviruses seem to fizzle out after a few weeks or months. People will certainly die, particularly the old and those with underlying medical issues, but it's vital that people don't panic, because that will cause a global economic meltdown.

The best advice I've heard, is to just carry on life as normal but pay closer than normal attention to personal hygeine. Coronavirus is here and it's a period we all have to get through, while minimising the impact that panic and paranoia has on manufacturing, and more importantly on food supply.

Many have died from the flu this year but not having any test kits how do we know they weren't infected with coronavirus? It's seems as though the USA isn't interested in testing it's people for COVID-19.

I would rather have one X-T4 than 2 RP. This RP can do more than 2 RP taped together can.

It seems to be a common comment on all of Sony's lenses.

Welcome to the new era.

Critical Thinker: This should have been a non G lens and priced a few hundred dollars cheaper (like the 35/1.8 and 85/1.8, even though the 35/1.8 is overpriced). Sonys naming convention and pricing tier doesnt even make sense anymore. I guess their labelling G/GM/Zeiss on anything now.

This lens should have been included with every cereal box of Corn Pops especially coming from Sony.

Camera Conspiracies: A lot smaller and lighter than the Nikon 20mm. What was that larger mount good for again? :)

“Larger lens mount good for” viagra for Nikon fanboys.

Photo_AK: The difference in covering 20/1.8 announcements from Nikon on Feb. 12 and Sony today is just mind blowing.
To go even further, DPR starts their coverage with marking the lens as "near perfect" and ends with calling it "industry-leading."
This is just sad and unprofessional.

It’s incredible feeling are hurt from a product release, unreal.
