I’ll buy it from woot when it inevitably goes there on discount. If sports arenas and concerts come back I can imagine this being great to use from the stands.
Any list where people get to vote is just a popularity contest.
The best way to do this is to provide images without the product information. The images that get voted highest will determine the product that the people seem to like. No fandom, no popularity crap.
I have a 24-105mm mug. My ex got it from Groupon. I’ve never used it.
This is a very competent camera that any newbie would love. The images (viewed through my Xr) look clean and crisp. If the form factor were smaller I’d buy it to travel with, if traveling ever opens up. Thanks Covid.
Kiril Karaatanasov: What are Canon guys smoking?
Did they miss the Tamron 70-180/2.8? Did they not see Samyang 45/1.8
Canon cameras and lenses are such a joke.... it is so sad to see people falling for their substandard products
What exactly is your grievance?
I would still like an R5 without the addition of video but I think I can upgrade to an R6 and be very happy.
whakapu: After viewing a great many dpreview sample galleries I believe I've reached a conclusion: Seattle seems potentially a great place to live.
(I say "potentially" because that country seems to have a few problems to sort before that potential can be realised.)
RavRad. After watching that I agree with you. Even in Houston it’s not that bad.

RavRad you didn’t explore every part of Austin if that’s what you came away with. The 6th Street underpass of I35 is exactly how you described Seattle. I live in Houston and visit Austin often. There are some nice parts but gentrification oozes all over that city and those who can’t afford to live there end up homeless, similar to the Bay Area, Seattle, NYC, etc...
I’d love to see some studio samples.
photoMEETING: I've no interest - I repeat: NO interest - in a lens with F/11.
I'm sure Canon was waiting on your individual opinion. They'll be sure to drop an f/5.6 just for you.
More than a few of those images look soft.
JEasley: I was considering an R5 but I don’t want to pay the premium for the video when I’m primarily a photographer. If they released a camera with those same photo specs with trimmed down video (4K 30 & 24 fps) I would be elated.
@left eye, I’m looking into that.

@ralas that’s what I’m looking forward to.

That’s besides the point, isn’t it? My topic is regarding camera specs and wants.

Resolution, dual pixel raw, and the top display. I also like the future proof with the CF Express card slot. Resolution and dual pixel AF raw are the more important additions the R5 has over the R6. No, “just get an R6” is not a satisfactory answer.

They have different photo specs. I want the R5 photo specs.

FH London: Im mainly interested in video, and am bitterly disappointed to find this camera does not have aperture priority automatic exposure in movie mode. I dont know why this feature is missing, its just a simple bit of software. I could put up with the overheating but this is a deal breaker for me.
@Gon0s I don’t know if he’s a true videographer.
milkod2001: It's actually non an issue for casual photo/video graphers this camera is intended to. For pros who do mostly video there are better, more dedicated video cameras out there. Canon did messed up though,marketing the sh!t out of this camera as super 8k camera while offering half arsed solution was not the best thing to do. But then again to come with info that they have just another 40MP+ camera would not catch attention i guess.
I agree with you.
dtcls100: Canon's own estimates of the video run times before overheating assume the camera will be turned off beforehand. So no still photos ahead of videotaping.
Some say that too much is being made of this overheating issue. However, Canon is the one who hyped the R5's supposedly unbelievable 8K recording ability. Canon is not the only company to unnecessarily hype gimmick features that sound great but have very limited useability in the real world, but Canon is one of the worst offenders.
Is that a common thing; using the body you’re shooting video with for stills prior to video? I use two different cameras for that, primarily to retain space.
