The fact Sony still sells a camera that is known to malfunction is quite hilarious. BTW Nikon fixed all of the D600 affected for free. Sony just releases the next model 10 months later.

Difference is that they will actually fix it instead of just releasing a new model.

I.E. Sony a6300

sgt gatr: I think A LOT of Sony owners are about to secretly dump their gear for pennies on the dollar to try and save up for this camera and lens. Just check the most common used gear website and it is littered with Sony gear.

All this hate from the fanboys but they will be some of the first adopters. They probably wont like it though because their photographs will still look terrible.

ivan1973 How am I Naive? Have you looked at fredmiranda?

FF Pro there will absolutely be "photographers" dumping their gear weather it be sony, fuji, olympus, panasonic, or canon to buy the new Nikon camera.

TinyTempo: This puzzles me. Announcing a 58mm 0.95 (see nikonrumors.com) alongside the launch of the Z-system? Sure, sounds like an awesome lens, but for a tiny niche market. How much will this thing cost? The 50mm 0.95 Leica is $11k, and it is just a manual lens. Nikon's lens surely will be autofocus, which would have to be pretty powerful to move so much glass, hence rather expensive I imagine. So, this lens will cost > $5k, probably closer to $7k. Doesn't make sense at all, in my humble opinion. Get the three basic primes done (85mm, 50 mm, 35 or 28mm, all 1.8) a cheap zoom (28-70) and three expensive pro zooms (16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, all 2.8) first. And even after that it's still too early to spend time developing such a monster lens...

TinyTempo I think the calculation for comparing a lenses price against a Leica lens is:

Leica lens $11,000 / 2 - $1500 = $4000

That is at least how I calculate any Leica lens compared to a Nikon. Usually in the ballpark.

I'm here to bash Nikon because secretly I hate my Sony...

Oh yeah, I would also love to see manual dials.

Abel89er, Sony should use basic supply and demand. Having a camera that is hard to get drives demand. Flooding the market with a product has the opposite effect.

Jekabs, I highly doubt Nikon is losing share to Canon, but even still, they are selling out faster then any Sony release. You can get any Sony camera only a few weeks after launch.

How so? Every single nikon dslr released for the last decade has been a hit. Their D850 which was released 8 months ago is still sold out most places. Whatever they come out with will outsell any other ff mirrorless camera.

mick232, you are correct. A99 is a DSLT. Same size though, which is the only thing mirrorless bests DSLR style cameras on. This is from a long time Fuji user and mirrorless user for 6 years. Given an unlimited budget I would choose the D850 over anything from Fuji, Canon, Sony, Pentax, Panasonic, Olympus, or any other camera producer.

mick232, ever hear of the A99, A99ii? Plus I was talking about FF in general. Please know something before speaking.

xPhoenix: Quit with the teasing and just make an official announcement already. Enough of the games. Nikon is way too late to the MILC party to be playing games. By the time they're don'e screwing around, Sony will have launched an a7IV

You mad bro?

tecnoworld: Everybody's crazy with IBIS, forgetting that it's useful ONLY for totally static subjects.

IMO a Samsung NX1 is still better than this camera, thanks to its better sensor.

We know. You post to every camera first impressions/review telling us that the NX1 is still the best ever! Guess what, not anymore. It’s noise performance is way behind the current sensors. I owned one a few years ago and it was an outstanding camera but low iso was abysmal. On top of that the damn thing kept crashing due to the Samsung Android os it was based on. I wished Samsung had stayed in the camera business but they stopped production at the first sign of trouble. There more of a consumer electronics company and not really a photography company.

milkod2001: Throw FF 30-36MP sensor onto it then we can talk Fuji. With size of the camera that should not be a problem.

And create all new lenses? Sorry but Fuji isn’t Nikon. Their not just going to dump aps-c because some random on the interwebs wants them to. They have fast glass that achieves nearly the same depth of field as ff without costing nearly as much and without breaking ones back.

Martin JC. I get it. It’s a nostalgic thing or people just trying to care for the environment. But it’s seriously just a tree. Nothing more. If that one tree makes or breaks the appeal of that landscape then I dare say its not that great to begin with. To say people can’t climb trees is a bit idiotic unless, of course, the tree is an endangered species.
