DVT80111: One bright spot for Canon fans, your 5 year old camera is not being obsoleted.

So it is ... and I am not offended mate ...cause I know that I can still beat you with my old grinder 6D :) http://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/235073/

Dario Andre: Last year I sold all my Fuji system and bought a 6D mk I. Couldn't be happier with the results. The 6D was a camera ahead of its time. It could have more focus points, the dynamic range could be better. But after every photo shoot, when I look at the results, I always say WOW.
This is just to say: how could the 6D mark II be a bad camera? It will improve MP, the touch tiltable screen will be a great addition, and the focus points are all in the center... yes... as most FF cameras. No problem.
I think we should avoid avoid GAS and try to become better photographers. Study the art of photography, improve composition, lighting, posing, and so on.
Bear in mind that your eyes are much more important than the camera. That said, 6D Mark I is already a powerful machine, Mark II will be (or should be) better (at least a bit better).
And no, given the current specs and first previews of the Mk II, I will not sell my mark I. And yes, Canon could (and should) have gone further with this update.

you should apply for a job at Canon mate ...

I'll rather keep my old 6D and ... and thanks to Canon I will invest this year into a new drone ... DJI Mavic Pro perhaps .... Love ya Canon ... you made my life so much easier !!!

RuthC: Congratulations, George Veltchev, on placing second in this 'Lilies' challenge, with your beautiful picture of these liliums. You have achieved an interesting contrast between the white and yellow petals, and the dark brown stamens rising to catch the attention of passing insects. Against that is the background of the dark green leaves. A very striking image.
RuthC :-)

Thanks for the wonderful comments RuthC and for the note bellow of course ! :)

Can't afford a Hasselblad? .. You still won't win one no matter how good your entry might be ...cause ... you must be primarily a professional !!! ... exquisite way to preserve the legendary snobbish decorum of the great Hasselblad brand !

George Veltchev: fake .. but still effective !

SpartanWarrior no bad feelings mate and I really wish you well , but this doesn't change my suspicion . First of all, It is impossible in my view to achieve this depth of field where the tree and the moon are in such an immaculate sharpness achieved at f/8 with 500mm lens .. no way mate .... well ... there is a way of course if the shot was taken from a huge distance and later the image was heavily cropped . If that's the case ... apologies ! However ... the next thing which bothers me, even more, is the clouds behind the moon ... these are heavy thick clouds mate ... the evidence for this is the bright halo which surrounds the moon from its half down and let's assume that around the bright area there are no clouds . Then ... what is happening with the upper part of the moon ?! In any case, the clouds should be located in front of the moon ... Isn't it always like that? ... and if they are ... they should overlap albeit gently the light of the reflected moonlight ...agree ?!

A glorious depth of field at f/1.4 ! I wish that Sigma builds a 200mm f/2 one day ! The Canon equivalent is horribly expensive !
