Have you considered an RX1/RX1r/RX1r2? None of the currently-available 35/40mm lenses for Sony have persuaded me to switch from my RX1, although the Sony 35/1.8 and new Sigma 35/2 are a bit ...

Given your budget and intended use, I would say the A7r2 is the perfect Sony for you.
-
Are you sure? I convert my uncompressed ARW files using the DNG converter (without embedding the original raw), and when I open the file in Camera Raw the full set of profiles is available. I ...
-
A question I've asked before but to which I've never received an answer: everything else being the same (exposure, white balance , ISO, etc.), does Adobe create its raw profiles so that they look ...

I always shoot in aperture priority mode with auto ISO. On my A7r2, I have C3 set to ISO Auto Min. SS so that I can quickly choose faster/fast/standard/slow/slower. This allows me to maximize ...

The original RX1, though, does not have a built-in EVF. The RX1R2 includes a built-in EVF but no pop-up flash.
-
Now that Sony has produced an A7C and a fairly compact 35/1.8, my guess is that the RX1 line will not be updated. Instead, I would expect an A7CR as the final replacement of the RX1 line. Then ...

Roger, what are your thoughts on Sony's in-camera sensor cleaning mode? It seems to me that violently shaking the sensor cannot be good for the IBIS/sensor mounts. Given that the cleaning mode ...

I have both the 24-70/4 and the 24-105/4. If I had to keep only one, I would keep the 24-105/4. However, in many ways, the 24-70/4 is a better walkaround lens; it is noticeably smaller and ...

Abrasive, I have to disagree with your comment, "Sony users who owned a camera before Sony got into the camera business will recall there was no such childish fury between Nikon and Canon owners....

I convert uncompressed ARW files from my A7r2 using the DNG converter. After conversion, the file size is about the same as Sony's lossy compressed ARW files. I haven't noticed any downsides, ...

I would not write off the Sony/Zeiss 24-70/4 if I were you. I use that lens, the Sony 24-105/4, and the Sony/Zeiss 16-35/4 on my A7r2, and the IQ differences between them are not nearly as great ...

Where does the Sony support link say anything about how to park the sensor before using a swab?
-
The OP's question is about the sensor mount, not the lens mount.
-
I have used an A7r2 for over three years. Personally, I think the sensor mount issue is a bigger problem than most people here seem to think, but I'm not sure it would discourage me from buying ...
-
Given this sensor mount problem, it might be wise to use the Sony sensor cleaning function as infrequently as possible. Unfortunately, I think you have to activate it to clean the sensor yourself.
-
You probably already know this, but if you could carry your camera on your back -- in a jersey pocket or in a small sling bag or backpack -- it would be bounced around a whole lot less.
-
What kind of headshots do you plan on taking? A 40mm lens at f/2.5 focused at 40cm will give you a depth of field of less than 1cm.

I've been keeping 4x6 photo albums for 40 years, barring a few years when I stupidly shot slides. Digital images look better on screen than they do in an album, but it sure is easy to pull an...

"Adoramapix is consistently rated low in every print quality shootout." Not true, based on my research from about six weeks ago. Previously I had used Costco to print my images, but when my local...
