with Macro I use f 9-22. Heavy high speed lenses are a nuisance to me -I need DOF and sharpness
-
The Olympus 100-400 is the best Macro lens for insects, flowers. I won't bother with this 90mm
-
correct, not much progress in sensor development. Waste of money if looking for resolution improvement

As I love telephoto, mainly use MFT. EM1 is robust workhorse, PenF less so. Canon 6d with 1.8 50 lightweight. Also use the superb Canon 1.4 35mm from to time. Fail to see much difference between ...

so far couldn't detect any reason to upgrade. Also use 2 PenFs though

having been a M43 user since 2009 I just got me a Canon 6d for USD 150 - just to check on the FF fad. I like that camera, not too heavy. Still use the EM1 Mk1 & PenF most of the time. Cannot see ...

even used the predecessor lens - also a Lumix 100-300 - with a tripod collar & monopod

I had to stabilize the flash shoe with super glue. No wetherproofing. Otherwise it´s nice. For a while it was available for around USD 500, but now prices seem to have increased

In the Barry Lyndon candle light scenes the actors had to stand VERY still. Looks a bit funny today. Thanks to the advances in lighting techniques a lens like this is now superflous.
-
there are some pocketable versions which suffice. I very rarely use my 100-400 without one. Lens stabilisation - all well, but if you want sharp pics... I also use flash outdoors
-
Price well below USD 2000
-
maybe you add some stability by inserting some super glue. In my case it almost broke off

just met a guy who carried 30 kgs Pentax kit - the way he handled it: abominable. As for high speed lenses - usually heavy, and you rarely need the speed. Rather carry a light monopod. Depth of ...

better treat with extra care

correct - serious photographers stopped using Leica in the 1970s when the production quality deteriorated Leica M5 Leica R the latter were horrible: expensive, shoddily assembled

I get the same quality with old Olympus EM1 - costs 150 USD second hand
