Another banger of an article Roger. Seems like this should at least make photographers consider how and when they use center point focus and recompose vs moving the focus point to the subject...
-
"To me focal lengths are just angles of view - you match that to your composition." And yet a 35mm standing close to a subject and an 85mm standing farther away look different. I think that's a...

I own a few Minox BLs and they're really beautiful pieces of engineering!
-
It won't be with the capture clip since it's missing the ramps that engage the lock but it should be fine with the tripod, maybe without the side pins. If uh the manufacturer wants to send me one...

I'm glad you explained the origin of the name cause I immediately thought of Henri Cartier-Bresson, the famous.... cinematographer? So this makes a lot more sense.

Folks this is not supposed to be the unhackable, unbeatable solution to every misleading image on the internet ever! Stop poking holes in it and saying "see, it's pointless". The point is that it's...
-
The point is that now images will contain information about what was altered. So if you see a seemingly shocking image online and you click the i icon and it says that the clone stamp tool was used...

xeppelin, do you actually think that throwing a couple of Mics and an ADC into a camera makes it $1900 more expensive???? Hahahaha it's like $10 on the BOM cost to take a camera from stills capable...
-
I considered making a sarcastic post about how DPReview commenters would be up in arms that their cameras dare to include an ADC chip at all. But I can't even satirize that, this is too funny.

Ahh I was weirdly excited for an AF lens with manual aperture. Like putting auto pilot in your sail boat, or cars with manual transmissions and cruise control.

Wait so what about these is manual if they have autofocus? Manual aperture?

Oh man I hate to be the bearer of the bad news but I own the Sony 35mm f1.8 and the CA is wayyyy worse. I'll likely switch to this Sigma for that reason alone.
-
Yeah even if Sony is almost breaking even on a customer who buys a lower end body and 3rd party lenses, that's a customer with much much more potential than someone who picked a different system....
-
Haha I'm sure someone on eBay will want it. It has value for plenty of people, linear focusing motors and native Sony if you're into that kind of thing. less focus breathing, probably better for...

I'll wait for more sample images but if the 35mm f/2 doesn't have the hot garbage CA of my Sony 35mm f/1.8 I'll be selling that lens and replacing it with this one. Lower price, better optics, and...
-
Cool idea. Seems like it probably has more utility for press and event photographers who are working with editors and PR times that want live content. But could be a really powerful tool.
-
Haven't there been like two or three of these kinds of devices? I recall Arsenal for one. Seems like half of their features overlap with things already in most modern cameras and the other half...

Good indication that some sports oriented mirrorless bodies are on the way!

Yet another absolute banger of a post. Do you know if any lens manufacturers use sorting as a method for quality control? As in, measure each optical element then build 'sets' that have variance...

I believe every DJI drone has had a Sony sensor, the Mavics have the same 1" sensor as the RX100 series.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
