Looking good , I must say from the sample images . An AF version
of that would be ideal with such a small depth of field.

tar4heel2: Ridiculous.

NO ONE needs an $1,100 tripod.

I see a shot of the tripod mated with a freaking Novoflex ballhead, camera tilted sideways thereby throwing off the center of gravity and increasing the inconvenience of shooting in portrait mode. One would assume using the BH-55 or similar ballhead and L- bracket would be infinitely preferable. (I own a BH-55 and would use nothing else.)

This tripod has NINE twisty-type knuckles. NINE knuckles to twist to extend and to collapse. Really? More work than I want to do.

I use a $99 aluminum tripod that I've had for around 10 years that still works perfect. It's heavier, but the weight difference is negligible considering the astronomical price of the RRS. Mine only has 6 lever-type knuckles that have never failed.

I just cannot think of any reason why anyone would "need" an $1,100 tripod; put your money into the ballhead, especially the BH-55 with L-bracket. The $1,100 price contributes nothing to success in the field.

Wrong completely wrong , a dentist (e.g). with a Leica 💸 does need a $1100 tripod

On article Why have cameras and lenses become so expensive? (673 comments in total)

New camera sales have dropped worldwide so manufacturers trying to cut down their losses by raising prices but in vain I believe . The problem is the global austerity that has hit the average user spending power also the rise of mobile phones .
It's a simplistic but probable explanation
I mostly buy classic good second-hand gear over the last 10 years , rarely new only if I get a good deal . Still use my Linhof Technikardan that I bought back in 1997 cut price as it was the showroom demo camera , it was not for sale but insisted in buying it.
Remember we are the money they are after , not to mention if you are the 'Man' or the 'Woman' you can do miracles with minimum equipment , keep on shooting with what you got

I understand the financial importance of the vintage trend market but making a camera like the MiNT Camera InstantKon RF70* or backs that use Instax mini , square and wide film for analogue medium format cameras 4.5x6 , 6x6 & 6x7 will prolong the longevity of their product . Take the Instax seriously so we can too.

Jazz Dung: I really hope this mean they will give us a LX100 Mark III

Even if it's a bit more expensive , I wouldn't mind if it increases in size a bit as long as it gets better . Please 🙏

Keep it up Panasonic and don't forget the LX100ii can do with an upgrade , for me it's controls and lens are the key 📸 but it can get much better and to become a classic example of respecting the past and a master of the future in compact street cameras

mxx: Is 23mm not too wide for a main camera? Traditionally that focal length has been solidly in wide angle territory, while "normal" was around 40 to 50 mm.

On article Leica announces a new D-Lux 7 ‘Street Kit’ (243 comments in total)

I bought the LX100 ii from eBay brand new for £499 and I love it , if only they make a new improved version I would consider going for it again . Even if it meant to be slightly bigger or more pricey .
Yes the Fuji x100v looks great but it's only 35mm lens that's not good enough for some , I love to have a camera with a small good zoom lens . These accessories if they were made for the Panasonic I would not go for them , I already have a good leather wrist strap & half case which offers me better grip and protection , lens hood and UV filter . Give us an improved version of this camera or someone else will (hopefully)...

An interesting option for many photographers & minted hobbyists , would love to see some 100 iso pixel shift photos and higher than 1000 iso evening shots
