  • You have all had your say. Now that I have been put in my place I guess I will pick up my marbles and go home and leave you fellows to play in your own sandbox.
  • I am not generally a fan of B&W flower shots but this one works for me. It almost appears as a work of art cast from lead. Very nice!

Excellent use of a FE. I have always been too timid to do more then test FE lens. They seem so hard to use well. I assume this scene was rather dark, in that you bumped up your ISO. Did you have ...
  • Replied in Streetfighter.
I was appalled when I used the men's restroom at a local Italian restaurant and found the walls to be festooned with motorcycles pictures with nary an Italian bike to be seen. All Harley ...
  • "anyone that still blindly fetishizes the words 'made by hand' should try shooting with the EF 16-35mm F2.8L III sometime."

One could just as well turn this around and say: "anyone that still...

  • Interesting. I also have the 300 f/2.8 which I still use for birding with the E-5. I have gone Canon FF (5D MKIII) for the rest of my photography. I am debating whether I should double down on ...

Not a posed shot but a capture from her performance on stage.
  • That is the sad truth of the matter.

  • Thank you! I will attach a color version to my response. My wife liked the Oly 300 f4 very much. She is not very experienced with super telephotos - she has a hard time acquiring her target - but ...
  • I love the kingfisher shots. Wonderfull detail and vibrant colors. The little fellow shaking the water off made me laugh out loud!
  • Replied in Great Grey Owl.
Taken at the Sax-Zimm bog in northern MN during the winter birding festival. This was shot from a tripod with 400 f4 DO MKII lens and 1.4 TC on 5D MKIII. Converted to B&W in Silver Efex pro.
  • I do not usually convert my bird photos to B&W, but this shot seems to me to be more about the textures then colors so I gave it a go.
  • Hah! A blast from the past. E-1 circa 2004. Very nice photo. Do you still have your E-1 Richard? I still have mine, though I have not used it in years.
  • Well, here is something different for me - the first time I have posted a bird photo that I did not shoot with an Olympus camera! And in B&W to boot! Allow me to explain. I have been shooting birds ...
  • Replied in Barn Owl
Nice shots. The first one is great. I have been trying to photograph one of these elusive owls for years - with no luck! Kudos to you!
