"don't make"? I need a 28mm f1 for environmental portraits...
-
The optical performance may not be the same, the Nikon version may have been modified for the thicker stack on top of the sensor...
-
It would have been even more difficult to match Sony's 50mm f1.2 GM, the best 50mm f1.2 lens around and with four linear XD motors, two moving groups...
-
@whawha You can still buy these lenses and adapt them on your mirrorless camera... You can can many 50mm f1.4 for $150 and an f1.2 for $350...
-
...and this new Sigma 50mm f1.4 weights 140 gr less than their previous 50mm f1.4 Art...

Or in three years the A7R VI...

@hjs_koeln SNR between sensors with different resolution must never be compared at pixel level...

@Rob Yes same sensor, but the better AF and better Viewfinder may help to get a better framed and better focused image on that same sensor...

-
Medium Format is better...
-
They should look into a technology called IBIS...
-
@gameshoes Yes, being mirrorless, better lenses can be developed... The D850 also lacks IBIS, eye AF, magnification in the viewfinder to focus manual lenses, ...
-
The camera producers test that will all lenses, and then publish the best performance obtained...
-
No shame at all, it is a "stills" oriented camera... Shame on the other brands, as they are not able to have any comparable camera for stills....
-
A longer lens won't give more background blur, you only will see a smaller part of the background... "Portrait"doesn't mean only headshot, you also have "environmental portraits" and for that my...
-
"best stills/video"camera doesn't mean the same as "best camera"... and the "stills" performance of the A7R V is soo much better than the R5 with an inferior sensor...
-
The Z7 II is much better than the D850
